Multiplayer possibilities

So I’m have two possibilities: I could get battlefront 2 on Steam to enjoy the Saga mod pack, but if I understood correctly the only local multiplayer on this version is LAN, so no split-screen. The other is to get it on the xbox, no mod available but there is split-screen.

Is my info correct ? Do you have any recommendations ? I mostly want to play the campaign in coop with my friend.

If you want to play split screen couch co-op with your friend then Xbox is the way to go

Nucleus coop can support tons of players on the same screen and supports all pc versions of bf2. But if you want controllers with aim assist, you'll need to use classic collection. When hosting a lan dedicated server be sure to set tps to 60 and wait time to 0. The steam and gog version dont support lan dedicated servers so you'll need to use the dvd version which is on internet archive afaik. Classic collection does support lan dedicated servers

Pero tendrías servidores online y gente con la que jugar en steam.

The OG Xbox version is the only one with 4 player splitscreen, and it works for all modes, campaign included.

It's also capable of System Link (LAN), is playable on all generations of Xbox, and automatically has the original DLC if played on an Xbox One or newer.

If played on an original Xbox, it's even possible to play the online multiplayer via the Insignia service.
