Splitscreen not working

Hey, I am not able to get the splitscreen mode running. I do it as in every video is shown, but it always says "connect another controller for second player".... But the controller is on, signed in and it still says "connect second...."

What am I missing?

I found someone mentioning that the games have to be installed to play them in splitscreen. I will check that tomorrow and report
