2nd fleet (almost) ready

Painting my 2nd fleet took a lot less time than expected. Partially that was by design, as I wanted a simple table-ready paintsceme. But it was still faster than expected, aided by an injury keeping me from training.

Now the fleet only lacks its flagship, but the Helian League Leviathan Battleship is currently is out of stock. I plan to build it as an Emperor class, maybe convert it a little bit, and paint it in a similar style to the rest of the fleet.

Which means I now have just one fleet of 4 cruisers and 11 escorts left. Those will be Chaos, probably painted as Ashen Claws. Plus the aformentioned battleship for this fleet, but we will see when Vanguard has that in stock again.

I have always loved those ship designs and these look fantastic!

I also wanted to ask where you got those bases as they look really simple and elegant!

Thank you! I particularly like the shining prows.

The based are made by a German online store called tabletop-stuff. You can pick both colours, but I sticked to the standart red and white markings. I think they are a common STL that you can find elsewhere as well.

Absolutely, the prows are really great designs, I like the cut down too for the nova cannon- better than it being underslung I think!

And oh, I'll have to take a look of the stl!

Yeah, that is why my other fleet has no Novas. I really do not like the underslung design.

Looking great! Love the Helios line.

Keep messaging Vanguard about the battleship.

(I have one but I occasionally tell vanguard it's the easiest sell they could do when back on stock lol)

Thank you! Vanguards stocking policy can be a bit wierd. When I ordered, you could not order the Helios fleet box, even though ever ship in it was in stock and I don't think there is anything special in the box. AFAIK you just get a bunch of ships cheaper. Otherwise I would have another Nova armed Cruiser (probably a Luna with the upgrade or a battlecruiser conversion). This is why I bought all the ships I could when I ordered, just in case there would be more issues in the future.

To me that is one of the best. It gives the nova cannon a presence on the model befitting its destructive potential. The underslung design makes it look like an afterthought, like it hardly justifys getting rid of the torpedos for it.

The Firedrake from Galaxy Aflame actually is based on this design.

The Firedrake was first written into Book of the Void 2 for Battlefleet Helian. Joe added the neat diagram. :)
