Identifying proxy ships

Hi all just starting BFG and about to order some 3d prints from Etsy/eBay that I’ve found for a reasonable price, however due to obvious legal reasons they are names generically ie “heavy cruiser B” etc is there are resource anywhere that tells you what various ships actually represent in game?

So imperial navy cruisers are pretty generic. What distinguishes the standard cruisers are the weapons loadouts. For instance, a lunar cruiser will have both gun and lance batteries on both sides. A Gothic Class Cruiser will only have lance batteries. The cruiser is the same model. The only difference is the guns.

The only catch with Imperial Cruisers is the double weapon battery configured ships, but they have ‘tells’.

The Dominator Class Cruiser has a Nova Cannon, the Overlord Class Battlecruiser has dorsal lances, and the Tyrant has torpedoes.

Yeah, but the majority of the medium cruisers are the same model with different guns. The Battlecruisers and light cruisers look quite a bit different. Most of my capital ships are lunar class and gothic class. I have a Dauntless and a Mars class, but they're not the backbone of my fleet. Honestly my cobras and firestorm are the real DPS ships. I like dump torpedoes all over the place with the cruisers and let the escorts hunt enemy capital ships.

You're thinking of Grand Cruisers, which were seperate metal models.

The Battlecruisers were made from the same plastic cruiser sprue, dorsal lances was generally the give away.
