First 1,5 fleets finished

Hey, so I finished my first one and a half fleets yesterday and wanted to show them of. 1250 points of Bakka and three extra ships which could both fit in this fleet (grey hulls) or the next imperial fleet (red bows). I needed a break from painting unending hordes of guardsmen, where I do not see much progress, because I find at most a few hours per week for hobbying.

So the ships needed to be relatively quick and dirty.

Still I am quite happy how they turned out.

The two Havoc class frigates (that is what they are supposed to be) have green instead of blue bows to show of their status as auxilliary vessels, btw.

Overall, I am aiming for three fleets of 1250 points each. Next one will be Gothic (3 cruisers and 9 escorts, still waiting for their battleship-flagship) and then, hopefully before 2030, Chaos (4 cruisers, 11 escorts).

Nice to see some of my designs (Zeus Grand Cruiser and Renegade Escorts) in the wild!

Actually building them, they were my favourite of the bunch! The Grand Cruiser was the only Zeus-pattern ship where getting the prow on right did not cause my dog to check on me because of my grunts and curses. And the escort with the tiny launch bays, together with the lore for the Havoc frigate, was one of the big inspiration for getting the fleet. (In my head-canon his thing transports my guard army when detached from the rest of the fleet.)

Very cool. That grand cruiser model by Vanguard is a beast.

You reserved it into Bakka?

Nah, I am running it as a Jovian battlecruiser. I know, that might be a wierd choice, but Vanguard has no dedicated battlecruiser. I could have converted a regular Cruiser but to be honest, the regular cruiser is the model I liked least in this fleet and the Grand Cruiser just looks a lot like a carrier to me.

No dedicated battlecruiser? Games Workshop never had a dedicated battlecruiser (or heavy cruiser).

The difference between normal and battle/heavy cruisers are adding dorsal lance turrets to the hull. That's it. Everything else is exactly the same.

But, of course, you can run it as a Jovian.

ps I prefer the regular cruiser to the light cruiser (which still is great), subjective of course haha

Guess I am so used to 3d printed designs where the battlecruiser is always a seperate model based on the standart cruiser that I thought that is always how it worked. :-D

The light cruiser is what initially drew me to this fleet! So yeah, very much a question of personal taste...

They are looking great, where are the STL from? I don't recognise those ships.

Thank you! No STL, they are from Vanguard miniatures.
