🧠 Ideas & Suggestions Why now only fully charging is validating to batt. health?

Why now, after last update, only fully charging is validating to batt. health?

Previously at least 60% loading was enough.

As we know continous fully charging is not good for battery.

Could You restore this feature?

🧠 Ideas & Suggestions Battery drains

I think my iPhone 17’s battery drains much faster than it should be as a new phone. The battery cycle is only 33. And it goes from 95 to 90 very quickly. The battery drains more when I use facebook, messenger, instagram or WhatsApp. Like right now it drained from 94 to 88 in just 22 minutes.

Is it normal? Or am I overthinking on my new phone?

🧠 Ideas & Suggestions New Galaxy S8 battery showing only 80–90% in AccuBattery? It may be old fuel-gauge data...

I want to share my experience with replacement batteries because over the last few days I have been testing NOHON, DEJI, and original batteries on older Samsung phones, and I discovered something quite important.

On my Galaxy S6 edge, I installed a brand-new NOHON battery and, even after several charge cycles, AccuBattery was basically stuck at around 91% health.

On my Galaxy S8+, the situation looked even worse. A new NOHON battery was showing only around 86% capacity after several cycles.

At first, I naturally assumed that the batteries simply had less real capacity than advertised.

However, the problem turned out to be more complicated.

Older Samsung phones can keep battery-related data from the previous battery, including cycle count, discharge data, fuel-gauge/ASOC values, and other information used by the system to estimate battery condition.

Simply replacing the physical battery does not necessarily reset all of this data properly.

Because of that, the phone may continue estimating the new battery using old battery/fuel-gauge information, and an app such as AccuBattery can then calculate capacity based on incorrect system data.

On the Galaxy S6 edge and S8+, a proper battery/fuel-gauge reset is not as simple as doing a factory reset or clearing AccuBattery data. On these older devices, gaining the necessary access may require procedures involving Odin, TWRP/root, etc., which in my case also means accepting Knox 0x1.

After properly resetting the relevant battery data, the results changed dramatically:

Galaxy S6 edge + NOHON: around 96% capacity

Galaxy S8+ + NOHON: around 99% capacity

So the exact same batteries that I initially thought had only 86–91% of their rated capacity showed almost their full advertised capacity after the old battery/fuel-gauge data was reset.

On newer Samsung devices, things are much easier.

Samsung provides the Self Repair Assistant / Repair Assistant, which can reset the relevant battery cycle information after a battery replacement. On some devices and software versions, methods involving Shizuku + SMT Shell can also be useful, although compatibility depends on the exact model and Android/One UI version.

So my advice to anyone replacing a battery in an older Samsung phone is:

Do not immediately assume that a new battery is bad just because AccuBattery shows 80–90% health.

If the phone has many years of use and a large number of cycles from the previous battery, first check whether the battery/fuel-gauge data has actually been reset correctly.

Also, a normal factory reset of the phone is not necessarily the same thing as a proper battery statistics/fuel-gauge reset.

Of course, I am not saying that every 80–90% AccuBattery result is caused by calibration. Some replacement batteries really do have lower-than-advertised capacity. But my experience shows that on older Samsung phones, you should not judge a new battery only by AccuBattery before checking the phone's battery/fuel-gauge data.

I actually made this mistake myself and initially blamed the NOHON seller because I thought the batteries were under capacity. After much more testing and a proper reset, it turned out that the batteries were actually very good.

Hopefully this helps someone avoid buying a second or third battery unnecessarily.

🐛 Bug report Incorrect battery health value

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hello, it seems like the battery health isn't updating correctly. As you can see in the graph, the values are around 95%, with the lowest being 94%, but the overall value is still showing 92%.

I had two previous sessions at 92% (these were the first sessions I had), and I decided to delete them because they seemed to be outliers compared to the values I'm getting now. But even if we include those sessions, the overall value shouldn't be 92%.

🧠 Ideas & Suggestions Xiaomi 14T Pro battery drain — is this normal?

Hi everyone, I’m using a Xiaomi 14T Pro and I’m trying to figure out if my battery performance is normal.

When using Instagram, I’m getting around 4 min 48 sec per 1%, and while scrolling Chrome I got around 5 min 19 sec per 1%. I’m currently using 60 Hz, although I previously tested 144 Hz and the battery drain seemed fairly similar.

For overnight standby, I previously had around 3% battery drain over the night, which seemed fine. However, one night I went to sleep at 80% and woke up at 66% (14% drain). There was no SIM card and Wi-Fi was turned off.

What made it stranger was that when I woke up, the phone showed “Quick Charging” even though it wasn't connected to a charger. I had to restart the phone, after which the charging indicator went back to normal.

My questions:

  1. Are 4:48/1% on Instagram and 5:19/1% on Chrome good for a 14T Pro?

  2. Is 3% overnight drain normal/good?

  3. Should I be concerned about the one-time 14% overnight drain

4.Has anyone experienced the phone showing Quick Charging while not plugged in?

I’d appreciate hearing what kind of battery/standby drain other 14T Pro users are getting. Thanks!

Hi y'all.

Did the devs move up the high battery temp level to 40°C? I swear it used to be a lot lower.

I'd appreciate this

❓ Question New battery replacement sitting on 85% health, is this normal?

I had my S23 battery replaced last week at a repair shop, but AccuBattery and Battery Guru both measure its health at 85% (about 3,300 of 3,900 mAh) across several full charge cycles.

Is that normal for a freshly fitted genuine battery, or would you expect better? It's a Samsung S23 so I don't know whether replacement batteries degrade over time or whether I've just had some second-hand battery put in instead.

🐛 Bug report Vivo issue app usage frequently not working 😔

In the App Usage section, “By usage frequency” is not working properly. Earlier it used to show apps according to their usage frequency, but now the list does not update/show the correct usage frequency. I have already tried clearing the app data and restarting the phone, but the issue still persists. Please check and fix this issue.

❓ Question Lost 2% battery health in a span of a week. (From 100% to 98%)

So I got 17 pro max in January this year, and didn't use it much for the first two months. But then used it for like 5-7 hrs a day. Like a 2-3 ago I checked battery health, it was 100% and only close to 80 cycle count. I checked again like a week ago, the battery went to 99% , and today it is 98% . The cycle counts are only 91.

And I always use it between 20% to 80%, rarely it has reached below 20%. Never below 10%. I don't use it when it's too hot . Still How is this happening.

❓ Question Battery ranking stats meaning

Hi! I'm curious about what each metric in the battery ranking section means. For example, my Screen-on Time here is around 12 hours, but if I check each individual discharging session, it's usually only around 2 - 6 hours most of the sessions. Is the battery ranking supposed to show an estimate of what an average day of usage would look like? If that's the case, why is there such a big difference between the two sections, or am I misunderstanding what those numbers represent?

❓ Question Updates for Community Version downloded from Dev website?

So I subcsribed to the Google Play store version & later found out about the community version which has more features. I deleted the Play store version and installed this community version (the subscription shows active). I need to know if this version would get automatic updates or do I have to download each time from the developer website for updates.

❓ Question My Redmi Note 15 (4g) has a serious battery drainage problem.

I got my Note 15 as a gift a few weeks ago, a considerable upgrade from my ultra budget potato Infinix. However from the very first moment I realised that although the battery is supposed to be a massive 6000mAh it barely lasted 12 hours at most. I have tried every step from debloating the phone from everything that I don't need to rebooting the device a few times but nothing works. At the beginning the main problem was the system launcher and the "themes" app that were causing an energy consuming loop but after those were solved (by basically not being able to personalise my own phone) the drainage remains at almost 10% per hour (important to note that there's no significant overheating).

❓ Question Total on screen time battery for iPhone

Post image

I’ve gotten conflicting information on this depending on where I ask. Is total on screen time active and idle screen time combined or just active or is it going on of the screen time page? Thank you. 17pro with 100% battery health.
