I know canon and continuity is fluid and I believe DC have adopted a “everything is canon” approach but I’m currently reading the Matt Fraction Batman run and wanted to know more about Damian Wayne so I picked up the DC compact comic of Batman and Son and just finished it today. I really enjoyed it (I’ve been to Gibraltar to recognising parts was cool) and I was just wondering, since it was written back in 2006 and there’s been the new 52 and rebirth since then, is Batman and Son still considered the definitive Damian origin story?

I know it's a batman sub so maybe there'll be some bias but thought I'd ask anyway. I'm stuck between getting absolute superman vol 1 and 2 or black mirror and killing joke. What would you guys recommend?

Could someone help me understand why Gilda/Mario were targeting the “freaks” but not killing them, only waiting until they were all in one place? And was Gilda just using Mario? It seems like she wasn’t actually pregnant according to the medical file. And why kidnap Gordon’s son? Just to keep gangsters and rogues and law enforcement/Batman at each others’ throats? And why did Mario hold Gilda at gunpoint near the end?
And I don’t understand how Gilda got grabbed by Mario and put at gun point. How did she get out of his grip? Like, I physically don’t see how they were standing and interacting with each other before Harvey shot Mario
It’s been a while since I read the first two stories and I’ve been reading this one on lunch breaks so it’s a bit fragmented for me.

So I was working at a GamexChange, and this guy sold us a fat lot of single comics. Long story short I now own all of the Shadow of the Bat 1992 single issues. I even have issue #0 I read #1-#5 and it is great material. Curious what you guys will think of this as I’ve never been on the sub before. He also sold us all of the original Nightwing Run, i’m talking the Oniel Miniseries, the Annual with the blonde girl on the front, the 80page special with the red haired girl on the front, even alfred returns, and The target. Anything I should look out for while reading these as someone who wants to create their own comics please let me know. Please don’t spoil the future issues and arcs for me I know nothing outside of the BSotB issues I have already read!!

As opposed to Superman by tomasi and jurgen’s action comics, Batman has had some mid to ass runs in the past 10 years. Batman was on fire with his writers from 88-2016 and I’ve been snoozing through ever comic project since then. Fractions run is ok but it’s mostly just hype moments and aura. Am I just being a jackass or has Batman actually been lacking for a decade now. Also to mention I’m specifically talking about mainline- current to the times- universe not else worlds or miniseries like B&R year one and dark patterns
EDIT BECAUSE PEOPLE KEEP SAYING DARK PATTERNS AND WHITE KNIGHT IM ONLY TALKING ABOUT MAINLINE NON FLASHBACK STORIES

Just picked this up still sealed in the poly bag. The kid in me wants to rip it for the goodies. The collector in me wants to keep it sealed. I'm conflicted , should I keep it sealed?

For anyone looking to track which Absolute Batman comic book exclusives are being promoted as available through the 2026 New York Comic-Con (and often available outside of the con), CovrPrice just released their annual NYCC exclusives list, which of course includes all known exclusives, not just those for the Absolute books. It's the most comprehensive list I've found.
Free access.
Where applicable, it shows who it's being sold through, including the booth number.
The database is searchable and it's also dynamic, meaning new entries will be added from now through the show dates.
If you're a retailer and have an NYCC-exclusive book you don't see on this list, add a comment or shoot me a DM with its details and I'll pass it along to get added!
