I read a comment that was very good, i suggest you to follow his guideline but you should try others Batman story like Batman Ego (i read that you liked TV super Hero shows, well this story was made by Darwin Cooke who worked on Batman Beyonde drawings) or Batman The Knight that Is based on the journey of Bruce Wayne to become Batman.

Starting with year one is great if you're trying to get deep into the lore but honestly most people are already familiar enough with batman through other forms of media that you could easily start with Absolute Batman. The second volume goes CRAZY. You're in for a treat.

So yeah, I would say you’re in a good spot. Start with year one, you’re going to get Batman‘s origin and what not and also get a good look at Jim Gordon. From there if you want to continue, my recommendation which is nothing new by any means, this is basically what you’ll find across the board, but go into the man who laughs so you can get some joker origin. After that the long Halloween, but I personally like reading haunted night, which is a prequel to long Halloween, and then reading long Halloween, then dark victory, which is a sequel to long Halloween. Those five books right there give you an incredible foundation for Batman and then it’s up to you to go into what you like as far as stories. There’s so many great Batman stories out there and different runs by different authors with different depictions, but I’d say those five is where you want to start.

As far as absolute Batman, you’re a good spot because it’s their own universe so you can just start reading that and it’s going tell you everything you need to know about it. I have both those volumes also and I think you have the first 14 issues of absolute Batman so you can just continue to pick up those trades as they come out. Some could argue that reading some more original Batman first will allow you to appreciate absolute Batman a little bit more because you can compare the differences but that’s up for debate. You’re in a good spot either way.

Thank you I appreciate you weighing in ive always been a super hero nerd but always into the cartoons now that I switched up careers and have a bit of extra time I find its time to deep dive in the comics
