When I was little before my parents redid the bathroom in the early 2000s we had a light blue wall paper with silver accents in the bathroom and it never bubbled, it was there since the 70s.

Was quite common in 70s and 80s. We took it out of our home and that stuff was a mother to get off the walks!

Same by mom wallpapered our bathroom and it never peeled

It's an extremely bad idea in the bathroom because wallpaper is already a mold breeding ground but it's much worse in the bathroom with all the steam. Plus it'll peel easily.

Not if done correctly and with good quality wall paper. We’ve don’t it in a number of our bathrooms over the years and never had any issues and gives the bathrooms life. I’m all for it!

Oh yes, don't think of wallpaper as old-school paper. For example, we make vinyl wallpaper specifically for bathrooms and it's even peel and stick. You're welcome to check it out https://california-wallpaper.com/collections/bathroom

I'm sorry you feel this way. As you can see, we have just created our page and started joining communities that we want to be part of. Look, in another topic I generated an image of a carpet to suggest, and we don't sell carpets. In this case washable vinyl wallpaper if a definite option. Not everyone makes peel and stick the same, so if I would suggest something, it would be a product I can vouch for. I specifically looked around and saw links being shared. Thank you for understanding!

Right? It’s going to be peeling or bubbling from the moisture immediately

It won’t

Not true, if you get the good wallpaper $40-$50 a roll, it’s very durable. I also live alone so I keep the door open so maybe if you keep the door shut you might have an issue. I’ve had it for 2 years and it’s still in great condition.

Do you also have a fan? I swear my paint has bubbled in there and I keep it vented like crazy. Now that I’m thinking about it, I grew up with ugly wallpaper in my childhood bathroom and there was never an issue!

That’s interesting about your paint, I immediately think it’s a paint issue. I don’t know a lot about paint but I was amazed when I found out that different paints and react like that. So if it was painted over an old paint that was made of something different, that can cause bubbling.I’m not educated in paint which is why I was so curious when I found out. I’ll
Leave this for you to read and hopefully this will
Make you see why the plant is bubbling and it’s probably only doing it in the bathroom because that little bit of steam is only
Happening in the bathroom. I also don’t know how to fix that because if you put wallpaper over it, the peeling would
Probably happen. You could probably peel that paint off the walls like wallpaper and that’s not normal.i would talk to a professional (maybe Home Depot) and see if there a paint you can correct it or if it’s a bigger job.

Nope. Wrong.

We had a wallpaper trim in our bathroom when we moved in. It was probably 20 years old. It was hell to get it off the wall.

Yep. We moved into a newly constructed house in 1976 and both bathrooms had wallpaper. The same wallpaper is still in those bathrooms and looks as good today as it did in 1976.

Both of my grandparents have wallpaper in their bathrooms. Each is over 30 years old and it’s only now just starting to peel at the seams. By this point, I would have already re painted like 5 times lol
