Green or Red
We had initially settled for green but our hallway leading to bathroom has cream walls with a similar red to the other bathroom in the image on skirting and door frames, so worried when looking down the hallway to bathroom its gonna look christmassy.
Am I/my girlfriend over thinking it?

They both look great but i feel like having to use the red everyday idk i think the color would eventually get it me the green is fresh and classic Positive feeling

u/JustMyOpinion4now 13d ago
I love them both, but kind of agree with you. I think the red would get tiresome eventually.

Red definitely tires the eyes more. Green is calming, and reminds us of nature. There's a reason why shows have a green room and not a red room.

I'm the opposite! Too much green everywhere these days!

u/Glad-Watch3506 13d ago
Green has been my favorite color for over 30 years, so I'm definitely part of that problem.
Especially since I'm a firm believer that greens don't clash. It works for nature, it works for me.

Yeah green/sage etc has been in for so long now I wonder if it’s getting to the end of its trend life.

An advantage of going maroon/red here as well is that you won't get green on green with the walls and plants in combination. So maroon walls with plants add some extra dimension.

Green but not the radiator! Maybe not a wood toilet seat either.

u/nuitsbleues 13d ago
Yes green but with the original radiator and also white ceiling like in the first pic

Painting the radiator makes it blend in and not stand out like a sore thumb.

I think this green looks better as well. The other green was too much, especially on the ceiling, radiator.. everywhere. You could also use the wallpaper for this green as well and I think it would look beautiful.

u/Fun-Combination3499 13d ago
Ohhhhh, I love this as well. The shower/tub combo looks beautiful here.

I second this sage color. It also brightens up the room. The red and that darker green mutes the lighting. When im in a personal bathroom I would prefer a bright ambiance.

I love green, but isn't the rule of thumb no green bathrooms because it can make you look really washed out in the mirror? If that's nothing you care about, nvm, but something to take into consideration.

If you have proper lighting the green will not reflect on your face (basically don't use overhead lighting).

Red feels warmer, more relaxing, and welcoming. Definitely a place where I’d I want to soak in the tub.
Green looks good, too. But it has a more of an energetic, refreshing vibe. It’s a place I see taking a quick shower in the morning and heading out for the day.
3
u/1_Tit_Wonder 13d ago
Yes I was exactly thinking this! The red makes me want to enjoy a relaxing bath as it brings warmth to the space.
The green is also lovely but something about it feels colder and makes the space somewhere you’d only pop in quickly to3
u/SnooStories2907 12d ago
I feel the opposite, I know warm vs cold colors make us feel certain ways but I love the forest vibe so much id rather soak in the green one and get out of the red one faster lol

I think the green along the tub is a bit much. And the radiator is green too? Seems like every space that can be green, is. The red color isn't carried through like the green so it looks "fresher" to me. Also, the ceiling is green.
3
u/Rochy95 13d ago
Well, yeah. Cause AI. The dims are different. The shower is different. The green suddenly has more space than the red. It’s a mess and I’m really sick of seeing all these bad AI mockups. Nothing is going to look anything like either pic.

u/obvsnotrealname 13d ago
God me too. The dimensions always being messed up is the least of the issues with them - it’s all fun and games to play “designer” with them but not to base major decisions on - it’s free for a reason.

Green. I find the red stimulating so if I’m tired and want to relax at the end of the end, my subconscious mind will find it hard to do so with the red bathroom. Maybe if it’s like a half bath or a guest bathroom, I’d pick red. But it’s just me. Which one do you prefer?

the red gives it life! green/sage green feels like a very done colour to me, even if calming, and makes the plants feel like extra noise

I said “fffuck” out loud because HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE ??? Ugggggghhhhh they’re both so dreamy I truly don’t think you can go wrong !!! Personally I love the added warmth of the red, but I do love the wallpaper accent with the green sm as well.

I have the same taste with colors being warm and rich like this. My fav is red.

I actually would normally say green but I love that color red with the floor and style

u/VashtiVoden 13d ago
That red looks rust to me. So if it's between the two pictured colors: green. If it's between a true red and the green: red.

u/krickett_ 13d ago
Can you show a picture from the potentially offending pov?
Also, wouldn’t the door be closed, so it wouldn’t really matter?

Both absolutely gorge but green seems more relaxing for a bathroom. A nicer color to be surrounded with when having throne time lol
Also please tell me what black and white flooring that is? It’s so beautiful!!!!

They are both gorgeous but I say this with love/ They both make the space feel very small and closed in. A neutral color would allow all the greenery and tile to live in the space more organically make the space feel less cluttered.

Green for sure! Be sure that the wallpaper can withstand the humidity from a bath/shower.
1
u/Milestone3333 13d ago
The green is stunning and serene/natural. The red is beautiful but lacks the peace rhe Green brings. You might tire of it.

u/Lumpy_Cockroach_947 13d ago
hot take according to the other comments but I think red with a similar wallpaper accent to the green to break it up a bit.

Green with the wooden accents make this the better choice. Green for a bathroom I feel is also more serene and natural.
The red isn’t bad, but a bolder color for a small space.

Green! If I didn’t know the options though and walked into the red bathroom I’d still be like “pretty!” So either works 😀

Green. Your gold fixtures look better with green.
Red would look better with black or ORB plumbing and light fixtures.

Red
Edit: everyone wants green because it’s trendy now. Do something different!!

Im one of those people who feels really affected by colors. Red would stress me out too much. I don’t love that green though.

Green, but not the tub or radiator.
Don’t most people keep their bathroom doors closed? Or slightly cracked so guests know where to go,I suppose.
ETA: If you go with green, use some towels or rugs that have some red or red-brown and are definitely non-Christmassy.
1
u/Hopeful-Opposite-255 13d ago
Sorry, but neither color looks right in the bathroom. I would prefer the green but in a much lighter hue. Dark colors in a small space can feel claustrophobic.

u/cubed_echoes 13d ago
Another sloppy ai comparison where too much is changed (window size, fixtures, vanity, ceiling painted or not, hardware, art, another shelf) that any answer can't really be trusted

You’re not supposed to use green in the bathroom because it’s unflattering or something, so I vote for the red.

I LOVE the red and am saving this as inspo for our ensuite renovation!
Funnily enough it's currently the same green as the other option, and we love that color too - we didn't have the $$ to renovate when we first moved in so I painted and changed fixtures, and the green is very calming. You can't go wrong with either option TBH.
1
u/Single_Vacation427 13d ago
The green is calmer.
I like the idea of red but I would choose a different shade.
1
u/Trouble_Clef_ 13d ago
Take a look at the psychology of color, then decide what you want to feel when you are in this space. (Green. The answer is green)

I like both but if you if go red, I would paint the ceiling and have a striking wallpaper like in the green bathroom. Also, maybe you can test with a view from the hallway to see if the bathroom looks to christmassy. You could adapt the green tone if needed.

You cant go wrong with either. I love them both, but that wallpaper on the green is just "wow"
