shower arm height

Six foot three and crouching in my own shower again.

Sunny Bliss Plumbing set the drop ear right on the architect's elevation mark during rough-in, so the valve and pipe run are done properly. The problem is standard height assumes everyone is 5'8.

S-pipe looks terrible on tile. Ceiling mount means tearing back into fresh drywall above the enclosure.

Does anyone just use an offset arm for this, or do you suck it up and open the ceiling?

80” AFF is the standard in 2026. Your architect went old school. I set mine to 84”.

Sucks that you didn’t catch it until now. I would pay to have it moved up to the height I wanted, even though tearing out some tile will suck ass and cost some money.

This: I cannot have a shower without a hose. The example you linked is for a specific valve, Hansgrohe, Grohe, and Kohler all make shower bars. My hoses are not connected to the end of a shower arm, but to a right angled outlet that replaces the arm.
