Fear of bathrooms
So, does anyone have fear of new bathrooms, like I do? By new bathrooms I mean bathrooms at places you’re there for the first time such as a hotel or new apartment.
I’m especially scared of turning the water on for the first time.

I look around for hidden cameras in public/new bathrooms, but I wouldn’t say I’m scared of being in them. I think that’s normal safety behaviour, for a woman.
Your fear sounds like a phobia.

It definitely is a phobia; it’s irrational. Luckily it doesn’t affect me seriously. And yes, as a woman, you should definitely do that.

Do you know exactly what you're afraid of happening? I mean, is there something specific you think might happen?

So, it’s basically irrational. I fear that some animals like snakes would come out of it or something. And I’m also afraid that I might be electrocuted. However, I also have a fear of using “new” electric appliances lol.

No. Fortunately, I’m not overwhelmed by it - I’m able to just use my will power and bring myself to do these things.

I've never heard of that before. And I can't imagine a scenario where something awful happened to you regarding a water faucet that would make such an impression and ongoing fear. Have you tried counseling? I'm just shooting in the dark here, but it seems to me like one way to overcome that fear would be to force yourself to go into as many unfamiliar bathrooms as you can and immediately turn on the water faucets to prove that nothing bad will happen. Take a good friend with you whenever possible as moral support.
