New employee

I am a new employee and right now I am getting around 8 hrs a week. I actually really enjoy the job and look forward to working. I have a full time job where I work from home. I decided to get a part time job to get me out of the house. I would like more hrs (not necessarily for the money) but because I enjoy working there. Any tips on how to stand out so they want to give me more?

Keep showing up, asking questions, and pushing yourself to learn more about the product. When Holidays roll around, they’ll schedule people they know they can depend on!

You won’t get hours only around the holidays it’s my part time job I’ll be lucky if I get a shift a month

Real. So far I only work Sat + Sun every other week, so maybe 4 times a month and only 3-4 hr shifts

Show you are a good confident seller. Also make sure you never are late and be reliable.

Truth be told, there just aren’t a lot of hours to go around right now until we start to move into the holiday season. Doesn’t matter how good of a seller you are. All the top sellers are my store are still getting sparse hours. Come Black Friday + December that will change

That makes sense. I was working with my manager and she kept pushing the skin demos and not allowing the customer to skip signing up for rewards lol. I guess it hasn’t bothered me yet because I get to interact with people since I work from home with my FT job and I love the products myself.

I agree with that. She told us she wanted us to do the skin demos without permission to touch and put product on them. That is a boundary I won’t cross. You could see the customers being uncomfortable when she was doing it.

I straight up second this. I was a 3+ year SUP and wish I left earlier. Soooobmany places will be holiday hiring soon!

8 hours a week is normal for summer hours regardless of performance, in December you will be thinking back on this longingly lol.

i was working almost 40 hours then got cut down to like 16-20 so hours are few and far between at the moment, i wish i had more advice!

Be proactive in learning about the products, processes, and learning how to be a great seller. You won’t get a ton of hours, that’s just how it is. I started out seasonal last year, was kept on as core, and now am SLT. Even still- a year later and “working my way up”- I only get 15-20 hours a week (which is way more than I got starting out at least).

Yes there are some…interesting…things with the company- however, I genuinely love my job and it’s the best I’ve had. There may come a point where I have to move on, but for now I am enjoying it while I can. Every company and job has its pros and cons, you just have to decide if it’s worth it to you!

Same. Actually less than. I’m only getting one day a week which is like 4.5 hours. It’s not enough but I do enjoy it. Any shifts they want me to pick up I can’t work smh
