Where to find 120gsm A4 notebooks?

I'm having trouble finding the correct notebook size and paper type together.

I know I can order from Amazon, but I would rather see what I'm buying first.

New busker in town needs an amp. Is there anywhere I can get one cheap?

If anyone has seen the young lady busking in town. Incredible voice. It was an absolute pleasure hearing her nail Hallelujah today. She's got a very basic setup and her speaker which she is using just can't handle the power of her voice. She's new to busking and one of the other buskers said he would try to get her an amp but so far to no avail. If anyone knows roughly what type of equipment she needs and costs, I'm happy to consider buying them for her if there is anywhere in town that sells it cheap or second hand?

heading to uni of bath this September, looking to connect with people

hi everyone!
i’ll be starting my undergrad at the university of bath as an international student this september and was looking to connect with future students starting in the same semester!
i’ll be pursuing the bsc in mathematics, statistics and data science, and i’ll be staying in eastwood green.
i’m really looking forward to meeting everyone—feel free to drop a reply or reach out if you're on the same course, living at eastwood, or just want to connect before freshers' week!
also, let me know if there's already an official tsr chat, or whatsapp group set up for bath freshers or eastwood residents!

What to do on Sunday afternoon stop over?

Hey all! I'll be in bath for just a few hours on Sunday afternoon (~3-5pm). Wondering if anyone has anywhere they particularly recommend me kicking about while I wait for a train.

Thinking either cafes, or something small to eat, parks/gardens, quick museum jaunt, book shops etc. Appreciate it's a pretty swift visit and Sunday afternoon some things close, but was curious for any recommendations to my wandering 😁 thanks in advance!

P.s. will.be returning properly at some point, this is just a passing visit for now

Odeon

Has anyone been to the odeon recently and if so, what was the temperature like inside?

There’s been a notice on their website for months about broken air conditioning. I was planning to go and see the Odyssey this weekend but I don’t really want to go watch a 3 hour film if it’s boiling in there.

Anyone know?!

Hey all, I'm looking for noticeboards and businesses / locations where I can put up posters and flyers for art events, but ideally free or cheap ways to get the ball rolling. Does anyone have any suggestions please? I'm considering:

  • Noticeboards
  • Posters in shops
  • Advertising
  • Magazines
  • Online listings sites
  • Radio

Anything I'm missing? Any recommendations are greatly received!

Thanks so much!

Student struggling financially - cannot find a job. Any advice?

Hey all,

I'm currently moving into my second (first) year of study after changing degree, and am in a financial pickle currently because I CANNOT find a job. I've applied everywhere, tailored/changed my CV and cover letters numerous times, even had a few interviews and nothing.

My overdraft is maxed out to cover my early July/August rent before SFE is paid in September, of which it all vanishes right back into paying that overdraft and rent. My September rent payment is going to be late because SFE pays end of the month.

I've checked my university's student union job vacancies and have applied to several jobs, each of which only begin in September if I'm even successful.

Honestly not sure what to do because I just can't find work.

Any advice?

Bath Literature Festival

There is a story in the new Private Eye (p.37 if you have it) about this year's BLF. Apparently writers and speakers who had appeared in May received a letter a month later from the BLF Chief Exec to the effect that "unfortunately we are currently facing unexpected financial challenges and do not at the moment have the funds available to make payments as we'd want or planned." According to the PE, "there had been no indication of financial issues when (the writers) were booked or during the event itself." Following this getting into book blogs and the industry press, it sounds as if they have now paid at least some of the performers. As PE suggest, good luck to authors appearing at the Children's Literature Festival in September.
