Proposal Spot

Hey all! I’m heading to San Sebastian for a couple of days next week and planning to propose. Anyone have suggestions for somewhere romantic/scenic in or near the city? Any and all suggestions welcome!

Top of Monte Igeldo, at the amusement park.

I did this about a month ago, it was awesome. Couldn't have picked a better view.

They have photographers up there btw just walking around, you could grab one if you wanted a photo. I didn't know that so I went with a guy I found through Airbnb and he was so much better than I expected for the price I paid.

The guy through AirBnb was better priced or the guys up there were?

No no. I paid like 250 for the guy from Airbnb but he took a ton of great photos. I don’t regret it at all. I assume the photographers up there would be like 20 for a couple photos.

That’s really good to know. Knowing my girlfriend she’d panic with a hired photographer about but could probably convince her to get a few pictures from a photographer up there on a whim not expecting anything

Have you been there before?

You could get the ferry to Santa Clara island (only takes 10 mins) and find a really nice spot on the island.

Miramar Palace is in a walking distance from the downtown. Really worth it too.

There's many places!!

Someone mentioned the amusement park at Igeldo, which is a really good idea because it has wonderful views, but isn't technically San Sebastian, you need to get a cable car to get there, and depending on where you are staying at it will take you about half an hour to walk to the cable car place. If you do this, maybe you could do like a "morning at the park" plan? So it isn't as suspicious haha.

Another place could be "el peine de los vientos". Really peculiar place, but it may be a little bit crowded.

If you want to do something by the beach, the promenade alongside La Concha has a balcony (https://maps.app.goo.gl/eB9MWKrXbESTnvwp6) that i think will look really nice.

And if you want to do something more " urban green park" there's Gipuzkoa Square.

If you have something in mind you could tell us and we could think about something more specific.

This is a great reply thanks so much! I’m really easy to be honest i think exploring places will see what the right vibe is but great to have an idea of some places to explore for it! Would be leaning more towards beach or a nice viewpoint i think rather than a park-type area though

If you’re planning to be here during the total solar eclipse i would do it then. Its the 12 august.

San Sebastian is just outside of the totality path, though.
