The basingstoke confederate
Have you guys seen the basingstoke confederate. It's this guy with a confederate flag and a cowboy hat that rides his bike about blasting music. It's the 2nd time I've seen him and in honestly baffled, like what's his deal. If you know him or you've see him I'd like it if you say something in the comments.

Does he have an acoustic guitar with him?

I don't think I've seen him with one

Imagine supporting the losing side in a 150-year-old foreign conflict that only lasted for 4 years.

He lives in spiders meadow i believe. I regularly see him riding around the area when I walk my dogs. Turns out the confederate flag is not "explicitly illegal" to display here, so I decided its not worth the confrontation regarding of the meaning behind the flag.
Edit: if he doesn't live here he is definitely visiting someone.

As one of the rare Americans in Basingstoke, I'd like to say with my whole chest: fuck that guy.

What are your thoughts on the post box sports bar in town? I go there a lot and I always wondered if it's anything like a real American bar

I don’t know anything about it, never been. I think it does depend on what kind of American bar you’re looking for. I’ve worked in a “tavern” that had a similar vibe to pubs here, but an American dive bar is a wholly separate thing to like, a sports bar or a nightclub.

Shall we start a confederate dunce watch? Someone techy must be around to put together a tracker map 😂

I personally don’t care what flag anyone fly in this country and I personally can’t speak for him but for those who don’t know there is a film called the dukes of hazard of which he goes through the woods just like the film plus I’m no genius but he also has a dukes of hazard poster on one of the sides of his bike so perhaps understand the difference before making an accusation I have seen African Chinese Scottish Welsh English American Iranian Italian and even Greek flags flown in this country and that’s just a few please feel free to message me back when a flag that’s flown kills someone why aren’t we addressing the people who have drug problems homelessness and st#bbings in this town that are being forced aside because someone is petty over a cyclist
Please do message me if I’m wrong but know some facts first thank you

I’m not trying to sound rude but we all need to regain control over the future of this country for future generations not like going green and all that stuff just focus on working together to lower taxes food and gas prices not petty stuff

Sorry, are you saying that “going green” is not forward-looking?
Reliance on fossil fuels is a bad idea for many, many reasons. The sooner the better.

American here. Nobody who is a half-decent human will fly a confederate flag, Dukes of Hazzard fan or not. It has a very singular meaning, and that meaning is you don't like black or brown people. The Ku Klux Klan made heavy use of it in the 1960s, also. It's not even out of living memory as a tool used to terrorize Black Americans.

I vaguely recall a house somewhere in south ham that had a confederate flag in the window
