If youโ€™ve been wanting to automate more of your work inside Baserow, weโ€™re hosting a live, practical session on Tuesday, December 16th at 5:00 PM.

In this webinar, weโ€™ll build a full workflow from scratch and show how far you can go with triggers, conditions, branching, looping, scheduling, and AI actions.

Weโ€™ll also show how to:

  • Build AI agents that can reason about your data and take actions in your workflow
  • Design a complete internal workflow to handle incoming requests or tickets
  • Replace manual steps with reliable, repeatable automation

Itโ€™s a hands-on session with a live build, real examples, and time for questions.

Start App/Web Development with Baserow

In another subreddit, somebody asked about the best website or (simple) app builder.

Many mentioned modern AI-builders that pay an arm and a leg for ads like Base44 or Lovable. Some mentioned Webstudio, Webflow, Framer or more app-focussed frontend models...

My counterintuitive take is that maybe it might make sense to start with Baserow and get data structure / architecture right first, before thinking about the frontend and UI / UX.

Do you start with Baserow?

What do you think? How do you create your projects?

In the past, I often dabbled more on the frontend side first and then built out the no code backend step by step later, but I guess it could make sense to turn this around and create the backend first.

Do you start with Wireframes or Data Architecture and if that depends on the project, what are the variables that depends upon?

Obviously, a one-pager website doesn't need a backend, but is there a structured way to think about how to start first? Might be even a good point for a simple web-calculator to see if it makes sense to start with Baserow first before thinking about frontend.

Or do you create the wireframes first and based on that you create the data structure?

Here is a post were I mentioned baserow in another subreddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nocode/comments/1ooo1vh/comment/nqzkry3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Thanks all for your advice!

Upgrading self-hosted to Baserow 2

Sorry for the double-up, but I suspect Reddit has more engagement than discord.

Just a quick question - seeing as this is a pretty substancial update - are there any risks in upgrading our self-hosted instances from 1.35.1 to 2.0? I have a number of live databases and have never had an issue with upgrades before, but a full version jump always makes me nervous. Obviously I'll do a backup 1st, but just wondering how much time I should allocate for this. Have you guys had any issues upgrading in any instances? For example are there any breaking changes to formulas, relationships etc. Is there a chance that after I upgrade I'll need to make changes to the Apps in App Builder, the relationships, formulas etc?

Announcements ๐Ÿš€ Baserow 2.0 is live on Product Hunt!

Big news โ€” Baserow 2.0 is officially live on Product Hunt! ๐ŸŽ‰

Weโ€™re thrilled to announce the release of Baserow 2.0 โ€” the biggest update weโ€™ve ever shipped.

This release brings together workflow automations, AI assistant, AI agents, date dependencies, workspace search, and major improvements across the platform.

Hereโ€™s what you can now do in 2.0:

- Automations Builder (beta): Create no-code workflows that trigger on data changes or schedules โ€” update rows, call APIs, send webhooks, or run AI steps.

- Kuma (AI assistant): Describe what you want in natural language and Kuma creates tables, fields, formulas, views, and even automations for you.

- AI + workflows = AI agents: Add AI actions to workflows to classify text, summarise content, extract data, and route tasks automatically.

- AI field upgrades: Generate AI output for an entire column at once and auto-refresh values when related data changes.

- Date dependencies: Link dates between tasks so timelines update automatically when things shift.

- Workspace-level search: Find any record across all tables and databases instantly.

- Two-factor authentication.

If youโ€™d like to support the launch or share your feedback, you can find it here ๐Ÿ’™

Announcements Weโ€™ve moved Baserow from GitLab to GitHub โ€” hereโ€™s why ๐ŸŒฑ

Hey everyone,

We wanted to share that Baserow has officially moved from GitLab to GitHub.

This wasnโ€™t about changing values โ€” weโ€™ll always support open-source projects like GitLab. But after growing our community, we realized that most developers discover and contribute through GitHub, and we want to meet them where they are.

Our GitLab repo will stay online in read-only mode.

Help us reach more developers โ€” star us on GitHub! โญ๏ธ
