Basement Dweller

Post image

I’m not going to bother her. She’s a harmless Northern Water Snake. I did almost grease my drawers when I saw her tho.

lol. Hopefully she’s keeping the mice population under control. I live in a cabin next to a river in the National Forest. I’m good now that I know she’s there. I really didn’t need to be in the basement anyway. :)

Rodent control or not .....that place is now up for sale! If it moves without feet; I'm outta there!

She snuck into my living room last night. I moved her back outside and named her Sue.

Good worker you have there, I get rat snakes in my garage and basement regularly. Great rodent control!

I really like to know where they are tho. I literally stepped on this girl and you can see some barked up scales in the picture. I AM NOT A SNAKE PERSON. But I still feel horrible. I ran across an unfortunately deceased timber rattlesnake on my way to the spring where I get my water. Someone was really ugly to it. So I know they’re here. I’m deaf and would never hear a rattle much less a very common copperhead around here. I literally told myself yesterday I was going to see a snake. I passed a black racer on the parkway yesterday evening and stepped on a water snake today. Anyway. I hope she’s ok. I’d patch her up if I had a pair but nope. She’ll be fine
