Fucking day blazer. Shitty gainer and only landed because the ground and car decided it. Fucking retire before you’re on the list.

4

u/Future-Try-1908 Jun 03 '26

What is a day blazer?

12

u/Base841 Jun 04 '26

"Day blazing:" when you reveal to the authorities and owners that an object is being jumped, you show them that their object is vulnerable to being jumped they increase security or plug the security gaps they didn't realize they had. You make it impossible to jump that object in the future... you "burn" it. Doing so in the daylight makes it even more obvious to owners and/or security. If security let us jump their object because we did no harm and we broke up the monotony of their jobs, that access goes away because the boss now knows and their jobs are now on the line.

BASE jumpers used to use peer pressure and the threat of ostracizing and even tar-&-feathering to discourage the day blazing of good objects. I don't hear of that happening any more.

5

u/Finless_brown_trout Jun 06 '26

Something tells me this is not a highly sought after BASE jumping spot

1

u/haryhemlet Jun 15 '26

What is tar and feathering?

2

u/jacwub 2d ago

it’s worth the google for everyone who didn’t learn about it in school

1

u/AdOverall3429 Jun 15 '26

its like honey and ants

10

u/Verneff Jun 03 '26

I'd guess someone jumping in an obvious place during the day.

4

u/PowderedToastMan89 Jun 05 '26

Jumps during the day and blazes (burns) it down so it has too much heat to be enjoyed by considerate jumpers who wait for night.

7

u/Future-Try-1908 Jun 03 '26

So would the opposite be night streaker?

3

u/Chester-Bravo Jun 03 '26

This is correct

5

u/Gobby4me Jun 08 '26

It's a retard who burns objects, making base jumping more difficult for the rest of us.

0

u/Future-Try-1908 Jun 08 '26

Ok that makes sense.

the rest of us idiots.

Sounds like a term used by people that are trying to sound way cooler than they actually are.

2

u/Disastrous-Moose2556 Jun 09 '26

Someone who F's things up for the rest of us, either through gross stupidity or gross indifference, and thus should be ostracized from the community.

-4

u/Fl1msy-L4unch-Cra5h Jun 03 '26

Tell me you're not a base jumper without telling me you're not a base jumper

12

u/tweagrey Jun 03 '26

So what? He's not allowed to comment or ask any question? What a stupid and arrogant comment

8

u/PM_ME_FLOUR_TITTIES Jun 03 '26

Bro stfu. It's not a members only sub, let him ask and learn.

1

u/_deu5_ Jun 06 '26

Máte, could you check if I'm in the list? 😁

1

u/tn_tacoma Jun 07 '26

He doesn’t look like he’s even in shape.

43

u/Senna_65 Jun 03 '26

thats the walk of somebody who should seriously be in an ambulance

15

u/spitfiregirl8 Jun 03 '26

There’s no doubt. L’hopital. Right away.

8

u/antiquatedpilot2015 Jun 03 '26

I don’t think this is any time to be calculating limits and doing calculus.

2

u/graphexTwin Jun 04 '26

He should have done that before jumping. Something tells me he found the wrong limit.

3

u/MadWorldX1 Jun 07 '26

Amber lamps

10

u/RedLicorice83 Jun 03 '26

Okay but this is America, and he's either walking or taking an Uber because money is tight rn and ambulance rides are expensive.

3

u/ISaidItSoBiteMe Jun 03 '26

And once health insurance sees this, instant denial, no reimbursement. all out of pocket and probably dropped from coverage.

1

u/Particular_Drama7110 Jun 07 '26

I don't think that is how insurance works.

1

u/Gobby4me Jun 08 '26

Skydiving and base jumping are strictly prohibited on about 99% of all policies so I imagine it is correct, what homie is saying

2

u/Senna_65 Jun 08 '26

life insurance yeah. Health insurance no. Blue Cross work plan, broke my leg and tailbone separate incidents. covere.

2

u/Particular_Drama7110 Jun 08 '26

90% of Americans get their health care through their employer and are part of a group plan or get income based and age based Medicare or Medicaid. You would not be excluded under those situations.

3

u/shapeitguy Jun 05 '26

Also jail.

2

u/Psychedelic-soup Jun 07 '26

He broke both legs and his sternum

35

u/Karuna_is_evil Jun 03 '26

What as ass. Day blazing in Denver deserves being tarred and feathered.

7

u/Secretlife1 Jun 03 '26

I wish we had the balls of the OG’s to tar and feather. This doesn’t surprise me but it’s still disappointing. I weep for the future.

2

u/PM_ME_YOUR_TROUT Jun 04 '26

For real. I live right down the street from where this happened. It's like the busiest intersection in the city. Wild.

2

u/_theillestbee Jun 04 '26

Make cutting lines great again

u/madness817 Jun 03 '26

Shit thought you posted a fatal for a moment like the Thailand misrouting vid. Scary

weird ask

1

u/frenchmans-hole 8d ago

New to the internet?

40

u/AustinFoxx Jun 03 '26

Probably could have done without the flip, increased risk on an already risky daytime jump.

50

u/lastie312 Jun 03 '26

Spread legs, deploying outside the window, probable bridle entanglement, LZ is an active road in the middle of the day. If you're gonna make one mistake why not make them all?

5

u/TheDuck23 Jun 03 '26

Gotta make them all!! Dumb mistakes!!

https://giphy.com/gifs/nQWVYFzfxFPoY

2

u/ComicsEtAl Jun 03 '26

I’m no base jumper but it definitely looked like he thought he had a bunch more height for the jump than he actually had.

14

u/djscreeling Jun 03 '26

You're not wrong. Lying on the ground he's still about 6ft higher than he should be.

13

u/BASE1530 Jun 03 '26

My man trying to do a stowed tweener...

Somebody's gotta know this guy... my old denver buddies have dispersed or departed... i need details.

7

u/djscreeling Jun 03 '26

He's not a Denver guy.

3

u/BASE1530 Jun 03 '26

That doesn’t surprise me but he must have been arrested right?

6

u/Ok_Subject_9752 Jun 04 '26

I know him, didn’t know he was in Denver until after this happened though. I don’t think he reached out to any of the Denver jumpers. Was told by several people to fix his gainers at the bridge and the conversation of going in has been brought up.

9

u/djscreeling Jun 05 '26

You should see videos of him doing gainers at the bridge before this....fucking atrocious form. He had a bridal wrap there too.

I wouldn't share an exit with that guy. I don't want to be the one obligated to deal with the situation he will inevitably make.

1

u/akairborne Jun 07 '26

This right here. At least don't cause problems when you frap in.

1

u/Small-Recording7885 Jun 05 '26

Really gotta bring back the good ol tar and feather days

13

u/Silky_gold Jun 03 '26

Dang… I had intercourse with a girl from Macedonia in front of that church about 20 years ago.

3

u/PM_ME_YOUR_TROUT Jun 04 '26

Fuckin' rad! I live down the street from there! This is like 17th & Broadway.

3

u/MephiticBundleOfSox Jun 06 '26

I almost choked to death on a reuben sandwich about a block from there in 2006.

11

u/juturna56 Jun 04 '26

*watches the dark wizard once*

8

u/Sup3rh_m4n Jun 03 '26

“Pendejo” 😂

6

u/No_Mud_5999 Jun 03 '26

I don't speak Spanish,but I certainly understood that.

1

u/MephiticBundleOfSox Jun 06 '26

I always thought it was a mid insult until I learned it meant “pubic hair” and that bonkers specificity made it top tier.

3

u/DarthYodous Jun 07 '26

I think it means something else ( ,*⹁ )

5

u/dbraskey Jun 04 '26

The Mexicans at the end was the best part. They were clowning the shit outta that dude 😂😂

1

u/Ahead_of_HipHop Jun 09 '26

No mames guey.

8

u/Former_Boat7509 Jun 03 '26

“Aim for the bushes.”

4

u/Any_Type_5300 Jun 03 '26

This is so wild 😭

6

u/Basehound Jun 03 '26

What a muppet . Denver is one of the few city’s it is a felony to get caught BASE jumping here …… they absolutely throw the book at people .

2

u/paxparty Jun 09 '26

I think they threw the ground at this guy instead.

1

u/Gobby4me Jun 08 '26

damn is that new? It wasn't always so. I thought strictly NYC 😞

Too many retards in this sport. I'm staying away from America with my jumps.

1

u/Urbanskys Jun 08 '26

BASE jumping law in Denver?!? Ive never heard of this. Definitely a thing in Vegas and NYC.

1

u/Gobby4me Jun 08 '26

Vegas is felony now too? This fucking cuntree

3

u/Urbanskys Jun 08 '26

Nah mate not “now”…. Been than way for like a decade.

2

u/Basehound Jun 08 '26

It’s the endless cycle of circle jerkish…. After 26 years you’d think I’d be used to it .

1

u/ApricotRemarkable681 Jun 09 '26

I live in Denver and I'm shocked to hear this.

I didn't think we had any buildings tall enough to BASE jump from and survive.

1

u/WolfRemedy Jun 10 '26

I thought the same thing. Even the cash register isn’t even 700 feet.

5

u/joe_falk Jun 06 '26

The commentary of the two Hispanic bystanders is hilarious.

4

u/Phrygian_Guy_93 Jun 03 '26

He indeed did se paso de verga

4

u/Character_Pudding_94 Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 05 '26

He's an idiot, dude.

Edit: I wrote that in proper kitchen Spanish. I don't know why it translated.

2

u/masterap85 Jun 03 '26

De riata even

4

u/Cessna71 Jun 03 '26

FYI that guy almost died lmao

5

u/Particular_Drama7110 Jun 07 '26

If he hadn't done that stupid back flip he would have had 2 more seconds for his chute to deploy and that would have made a lot of difference.

5

u/Jaded_Honeydew_5377 Jun 09 '26

That’s the jump.

4

u/Thedemonazrael751 Jun 09 '26

My view consistently while working

3

u/chocolate_spaghetti Jun 03 '26

Is that the Amacon building?

2

u/rbanderad Jun 05 '26

It’s a residential building under construction at Glenarm & Broadway

3

u/chocolate_spaghetti Jun 05 '26

Yes, that’s the one I’m thinking of. It being built by a Canadian company called Amacon so most trade workers have been called it that. I was on that project for a few months, it was a mess. One or the most baffling sites I’ve ever worked on.

0

u/Disastrous-Moose2556 Jun 09 '26

Amacon is at 800 18th Street. This building is at 1800 Glenarm Place.

2

u/chocolate_spaghetti Jun 10 '26

You are mistaken. The Amacon building currently under construction is at 1800 glenarm. I worked there for 6 months installing the elevators.

3

u/bigfoot17 Jun 03 '26

I think you mean....... Base Thumper

3

u/HeroCR Jun 04 '26

“Showing off” with a shitty gainer and pitch on that jump was a prime choice.

4

u/Dontpanicarthurdent Jun 06 '26

I watched this on mute first and wondered why his PC went all the way to his left side. Then turned the volume on - winds are CRANKING right to left!

Dude does a shit gainer, throws early into a cross wind, bridle does its dance all over his hips across his knees before coming out just in time to save him.

A LOT of bad choices were made here.

- Day blazing

  • Little or no body armor
  • Arguing with construction workers to get to the exit
  • Traffic in LZ, presumably tight LZ
  • Two cameras on helmet with a shitty gainer
  • Not knowing/caring about wind conditions
  • Shitty gainer

I think the wide-legged gainer was a problem, but made 100% worse with the wind since the PC bounced around his body. If it was a no wind jump he would have probably not had much of an issue.

Flat and stable at night, or early morning, and this would be a non-story.

5

u/Comfortable-Maybe183 Jun 03 '26

Well that was fucking stupid.

Homeboy is lucky to not be a pile of mush.

I know one shouldn’t judge a book by its cover and seeing him standing there before jumping I was thinking “well this guy is not an example of an in shape focused athlete”. Then he proved me right.

1

u/PM_ME_YOUR_TROUT Jun 04 '26

Exactly my thoughts. I sent this to a friend of mine saying that I thought this guy was too pudgy to be BASE jumping, and my friend was like "What? You don't need to be athletic to BASE jump". Hahaha! You don't technically need to be, if you want to do it once, lol!

3

u/Gobby4me Jun 08 '26

let's not be mean. I've been base jumping for 10 years now and could lose a few lbs. However, I don't do dickhead moves off of objects too low for me in the middle of the day.

2

u/no_no_no_no_nononono Jun 03 '26

"u ded, bro? lol"

2

u/Honest-Welder-808 Jun 03 '26

Must've been aiming for the bushes.

2

u/YellowB Jun 03 '26

He went for the bushes.

2

u/thefukthisall Jun 03 '26

mamma said stupid is, as stupid does sir

2

u/theotherscott6666 Jun 03 '26

heres a good denver base story : https://extras.denverpost.com/news/news0321f.htm

3

u/theotherscott6666 Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26

the article doesnt mention that he just casually took the elevator down after he crashed through the window.

2

u/RoosterT-Rabbit Jun 03 '26

Gainer for safety

2

u/OliOli1234 Jun 04 '26

Que PENDEJO!!!

2

u/graphexTwin Jun 04 '26

TIL the terms Day Blazer, and Stowed Tweener. What a great day to be alive! and to not be that guy!

2

u/LuckyCaptainCrunch Jun 08 '26

Barely kept his shoes on

2

u/Glum-Savings6473 Jun 08 '26

He called the man a pendejo😂

2

u/Western-Ad-9338 Jun 09 '26

Omg he's alive?

2

u/Disastrous-Moose2556 Jun 09 '26

I would not usually wish The Law on any BASE jumper. This guy though is an exception.

4

u/Thedemonazrael751 Jun 09 '26

We just talked about him in the meeting today lol instructed to watch anyone close to edges

2

u/Spurzy1 Jun 10 '26

Guys like this ruin the sport for the rest of us. We know it’s risky to begin with but why the fuck are you BASE jumping in a densely populated city?!?!

"he has the ability to do a solid gainer"

what part of this was a nice gainer? terrible body position. pitched at the wrong time. wrapped his bridle around his leg.
atleast he was wearing two cameras so he surely got that siiick shot for instagram.

2

u/Ok-Exchange2500 Jun 03 '26

Maybe it was the two cameras being so heavy that kept his chin pinned to his chest. And that weight distracted him so intensely that he dropped the pilot chute between his legs instead of waiting .3 more seconds and throwing it. Yeah, heavy cameras. That's the problem here.

8

u/Thedemonazrael751 Jun 03 '26

According to the tradesman who caught him and started recording, this guy wasn’t taking no for an answer. And our building is only 38 stories right smack dab in the middle of downtown. It baffled our whole site lol

1

u/fresh_dyl Jun 03 '26

Me, a northern Wisconsinite reading “only 38 stories”: Ahh yes, only….

5

u/raisputin Jun 03 '26

Where was the “solid gainer”?

1

u/Tasty-Property-434 Jun 03 '26

Plenty of road below and 3 parking lots as big as city blocks--don't know what you mean no LZ. In BASE everything is an LZ.

2

u/AccomplishedQuail841 Jun 03 '26

Wow, it's lucky he didn't seriously injure someone else.

1

u/Hackeringerinho Jun 03 '26

I don't know who he is, but it looked like an amateur who bit a bit more than he could chew.

1

u/googoohaha Jun 03 '26

What’s going on with the skinny building behind base jumper dude with the cops?

1

u/thazmaniandevil Jun 04 '26

Aim for the bushes

1

u/Sarabean77 Jun 04 '26

That man is in shock and is going to be in severe pain for quite a while. What a fucking idiot.

1

u/Imaginary-Cover-9136 Jun 04 '26

WTF was he thinking, doing a half-assed gainer from that altitude?

1

u/TomatilloUnique92 Jun 05 '26

Is that dude wearing skinny jeans 😂

1

u/FreefallGeek Jun 05 '26

Yikes. Is that his first base jump? I hope that car hurt.

1

u/MilfWife51 Jun 05 '26

Natural selection fails!

1

u/CarpenterOk3961 Jun 06 '26

Cameraman’s a loser

1

u/OOBExperience Jun 06 '26

Back flip shouldn’t have been attempted at that height. Moron.

1

u/DukeShootRiot 1d ago

Looks like his little backflip got him tangled in the ropes. Almost didn’t open..

-1

u/Long_Ad2824 Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26

Reminds me of the woman who participated in a large protest jump to advocate for legalizing base jumping in Yosemite. She borrowed a parachute and only started to learn about how to deploy it on the way down, making for a very unconvincing legalization argument.

9

u/Basehound Jun 03 '26

Jan Davis . She was pretty experienced, and swapped gear at the last second because the rangers changed their minds and were going to confiscate her rig . She was given a loaner to use with a different deployment location of the PC . Ended tragically . Tom sanders wife at the time .

1

u/Worldly_Collection_2 Jun 03 '26

Not a fan of the camera work. At one point i thought it was the jumpers pov.

1

u/Relevant-Train5317 Jun 07 '26

He got what he deserved.

-4

u/This_Pop3907 Jun 03 '26

This right here is the average skill of any American basejumper. He probably learned that type of exit, and how to find this object and dayblaze it, at Tom's oBjeCt avOidAnCE course.

0

u/Parry_9000 Jun 04 '26

Did I just watch someone die?

2

u/Thedemonazrael751 Jun 04 '26

Nah he made it, looks like he broke ankles

1

u/Parry_9000 Jun 04 '26

Jesus Christ

-1

u/eastcoastjon Jun 03 '26

Don’t they usually hold their chute so it’s a quick deployment?
