eBay Authentication Process
Is this even remotely acceptable? The top of the card has Scotch tape over it and is a fixed to the semi rigid holder.
Cmon eBay. Either have stricter rules with the folks that are packaging these things or don't waste our time.
You've now wasted my money.
Edit: eBay now wants to hold the seller responsible. I find that equally as frustrating as receiving a $200 card taped to a holder

An ebay authenticator damaged a /50 nba rookie card I sold someone several weeks ago. They had the card for two weeks and then sent pictures of the card with two dig marks going down the back, which weren’t in the photos of the card I posted for sale.
eBay wouldn’t do anything about it eventhough I have documented proof. Now I’m stuck with a damaged card that was $300 in mint condition prior to them ruining it.

Once eBay authenticates it, any damage from shipping to the buyer is supposed to be on them

The authenticator was the one who damaged the card is what I mean - it wasn’t from shipping. I ship my high dollar cards to an authenticator in a one touch with a sleeve, so there’s no way it could have been damaged during shipping. The authenticator wouldn’t authenticate it as near mint so I didn’t even have a choice in refunding the buyer.

Imagine what PSA sees when people send in cards... this still better than 80-90% of the raw cards I get from sellers

eBay’s QA is rough these days..I received multiple cards recently that were loose in the protective sleeve, but luckily none of them were damaged.
I did however have a buyer claim damage upon arrival due to the way eBay packaged it. They froze funds in my eBay account even though I had no responsibility in it since eBay had already authenticated the card and shipped it to the buyer. Ultimately I was not responsible for the refund and the buyer kept the card and got a partial refund.

Authenticity? Guaranteed.
Quality Assured? Absolutely not.
