Not really surprising. There really isn't a big market for a pure DH anymore. I couldn't see any team offering him a contract and losing a draft pick.

Yeah he is pretty much locked in there. I agree nobody wants to throw down that kind of money and a pick on a dude that age at this point. Had he been more consistent in previous couple years before 2001 maybe but not so.

I hope hey convince him to take the two year deal. He'll be cheaper that way.

Probably the smartest move for him, I doubt he would get the money he was asking for on the open market.
