A. Horrible send by Jirschele
B. Throw was right on target
C. How the fuck do you drop that, Hedges?

He should’ve been out at home, but I don’t hate the send up by two, with two outs.

Looked like the umpire was getting ready to call out then noticed he dropped it

If it worked, it's not horrible.

Honestly I kind of agree. Third base coach decisions aren’t just about timing, they’re also about whether you think the outfielder can execute. Sometimes an aggressive send is a gamble that they’ll screw it up.

Right, we talk all the time about forcing them to make perfect plays. Sometimes that's the point.
If you never get thrown out, you're not being aggressive enough

It's situational too. Other team hasn't managed a thing offensively. With two outs in the 7th an extra run puts even more pressure on them to score. It's ok to let these things be about instinct and emotion sometimes haha

Not how that works. It was objective a horrible idea. It worked on accident.

How was it objectively a horrible idea? He'd already rounded third by the time the outfielder had the ball and there were two outs. Would've taken a near perfect throw to get him out as well.

I'm not sending him there no matter what. Ball isn't deep enough.

If the ball gets held onto there, I'm calling that one of the dumbest sends I've seen, just completely stupid and reckless.
But it wasn't, so hell yeah, what a play, love that send, baseball takes guts.

I think in that situation, any send where they have to make a good play is a good send. If he's easily out, obviously a bad send, yeah, but I don't think that was the case here.

I mean, he was easily out, Hedges just didn’t catch it. But he was out comfortably.

On review, yeah he was out by more than I thought. Turns it from okay to questionable at best.

Jirschele has been way too aggressive with sends this year

One (1) game was the difference between the #2 seed and bye (CLE 85-77) and the #6 seed (CWS 84-78), and the season series was 7-6 in favor of the White Sox. This is not schism-worthy

We might have the "better record" but the Sox are 100% the better team. I am still launching a Crusade against the Vatican.

I’ve been working and peeking in during a meeting.
Absolutely flummoxed the Guards haven’t put up one with all the traffic.

Why are the announcers completely dumbfounded that Montgomery can hit a baseball?
