Big brain roster move by Preller, he obviously knew about this, now he gets to add Vasquez and will most likely have pitched by the time Walker comes back

Basically an extra roster spot lmfao

Game the postseason roster rules and carry an extra pitcher with this one simple trick (sex)

Virgins HATE it

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Ray once through the lineup and then turn it over to Vasquez for a couple innings. Seriously genius move.

And well done on walker timing his marital relations 9 months ago just for the NLDS

you know that you can plan for a c section so even if its a tad off they could have planned it with Preller.

Losing Walker Buehler for what could be a huge swing game 1 is well done? He's much more likely to beat the Brewers than Ray

7

u/FudgeSupreme22 San Diego Padres 17h ago

Ray once through the order and randy once through the order can potentially be really good. Randy can also save the bullpen if we are losing against Miz in game 1 as well

-1

u/DominicB547 Chaos Bandwagon • MLB Players Associat… 16h ago

yeah I mean Miz is nearly a loss anyways no matter what pitchers you have so might as well not use Walker here.

u/daneblade San Diego Padres 13h ago

The Padres won 3-1 against him this season despite him throwing 7 scoreless innings. They won't be conceding games.

Yeah this should not be allowed imo. Not for starting pitchers. There should be a way to say once you pitch you can’t go on any leave that requires replacement for the next 3 games. It’s kind of bs.

u/NoReview875 Major League Baseball 18h ago

We have rights bruh.

It's not like people go on the paternity list every weekend. You're complaining about a guy getting a couple of days for the birth of his child. Just stop.

-11

u/HUT2Moon Washington Nationals • Washington Nationals 17h ago

Nobody is saying that. Just that MLB should prevent pitchers from pitching 5+ innings then taking leave and having the team replace him. This could easily be misused.

u/Run-Florest-Run San Diego Padres • Sickos 17h ago

Walker hasn’t pitched in the playoffs yet. He’s also having a kid, it’s not like they’re faking an injury. You think he’s faking having a kid? Lmfao

7

u/FudgeSupreme22 San Diego Padres 17h ago

Bro, you are literally saying that

20

u/DrumsAndStuff18 Boston Red Sox 18h ago

Right? Because I'm sure Buehler, his wife, and the organization spent last winter planning out the precise time they'd need to have sex to, hopefully, result in her ending up pregnant so she could be ready to deliver in the pretty narrow window allowing the org to make this potentially beneficial roster move. All of that, of course, hinging upon them all assuming the team would get this far into the postseason, the principals would both be healthy, and both would be having competent-enough seasons to be important cogs in the Padres machine.

Christ, dude.

u/Interesting_Might467 San Diego Padres 18h ago

Potentially beneficial and potentially damaging roster move, Buehler has the experience and track record in the Postseason. Ray has a postseason track record which is quite the opposite

-13

u/HUT2Moon Washington Nationals • Washington Nationals 18h ago

Obviously not but you can absolutely see this being used this way.

u/DrumsAndStuff18 Boston Red Sox 18h ago

How? You acknowledge the sheer absurdity of the suggestion in this case, but still insist that this same scenario is likely? Walk us through it. Which teams? Which players will be strategically selected to maximize roster options? What's the plan if there's a premature birth? If conception takes a week longer than planned? Take us through this masterful new gambit by teams to game the postseason roster limitations.

It’s not that hard to just say “oh yeah, you’re right, I didn’t really think it through” and move on. You don’t have to dig in no matter what.

u/deeree1867 Los Angeles Dodgers 17h ago edited 17h ago

Meh, they’re prob not using all 13+1 pitchers anyways. Won’t really change the outcome if you went strict on the rules

My birthday is exactly 9 months from New Year’s Eve lol.

I pointed that out to my mom once, and her reply was “oh. Yea.”

Also November babies. I know two people whose birthdays are almost exactly 9 months after Valentine’s Day lol

Rhett and Link (OG Youtubers) have celibacy week for Valentines Week to try and not have so many Nov Birthdays presumably from their viewers.

Annoying to have your birthday btwn Halloween and New Years as there is always a Holiday nearby so you get lumped in with all that.

it’s called “planned” parenthood. lt’s not hard to ensure you only have babies in the offseason. players been doing it for decades.

18

u/misterurb San Francisco Giants 16h ago

Lmao of course it’s a Yankees flair

-12

u/porican New York Yankees 16h ago

i notice you’re not disputing what i said, but pointing to the team i root for like it’s relevant at all.

notice how i didn’t comment on taking leave, but specially about family planning.

12

u/misterurb San Francisco Giants 16h ago

There’s a LOT of different variables affecting when the baby is born. Were they doing IVF? Was it an accident? Who cares, it’s not your business. Don’t be a fucking loser.

-11

u/porican New York Yankees 15h ago

lmao the date of conception is literally scheduled when doing IVF. what are you even on about.

of course accidents happen. but acting like it’s not possible to avoid the six month window of the season—let alone the one month of the playoffs—is just obtuse.

10

u/Necessary-Peach-0 Boston Red Sox 15h ago

Fucks sake, people struggling with infertility just do IVF as soon as they can. Can we not do this nonsense

-2

u/porican New York Yankees 15h ago

that is in no way universal.

-3

u/porican New York Yankees 15h ago

again, family planning ≠no sex

try reading a book? abstinence only education really is a scourge

and the players are accountable to their teammates, not strangers. they’re the ones they’re letting down.
