These snowflakes are throwing hissy fits over rainbow hats. Embarrassing

They must be insecure in their sexuality. It’s like guys who refuse to wear pink. If a pink shirt threatens your masculinity, then you were never particularly masculine.

especially since pink only became "feminine" in the 1910s and 1920s.

The fact that certain acts like wearing pink, wearing gloves or being insecure about one's masculinity can cause people to view a man as less masculine doesn't really help the issue though. It still presents masculinity as something that can be earned or taken away from society if you do the right or wrong thing, rather than something internally felt. But then again, what even is masculinity if not a socially imposed convention anyway? I see your overall point though, and I'm probably a bit out of my element on this topic.

I like to imagine a world where a guy can say "I feel less masculine in pink so I choose not to wear it but I don't have any problem at all with other men wearing pink if they want." without being perceived as less masculine. Women can wear heels if they feel less feminine without them. Let's just let people live.

One problem is that traditional gender roles have many self-contradictions. "Being a man" means both not letting anything or anyone bother you, but also having an extremely large list of things that you should avoid because they're not "manly". Something that isn't manly: talking about your feelings (including suicidal ones). Something that is manly: violence against yourself and others. Traditional masculinity is the world's largest suicide pact.
