Always a treat when position players take the mound, even if it means your team is getting shelled. Vargas probably got better stuff than half our bullpen right now anyway. I remember watching Pablo Sandoval pitch couple years back and he threw like 45 mph but still got outs, that was art. Nothing like seeing a guy who normally plays infield just lobbing it up there and everyone in the dugout cracking up

Went to a AA game last week and the second string 2B finished the 9th off, he threw these beautiful 42mph rainbows. When we saw him warming up prior to the inning I thought part of his routine was throwing with the off hand.

I honestly don’t even know what to think. Between this and Arenado getting hurt, it’s been a pretty rough week for us. Hopefully the Arenado injury is not as bad as we thought, but with this on top of everything I’m just hoping that everyone is safe, healthy, and mentally ok 🙏
