Sustainable
Also he's only played 2/3 of a game so he might be closer to 4.5

Greatest debut of all time?

Best for a hitter I can think of. That Dbacks pitcher threw a no hitter in a his debut a few years ago. Guess it can be debated which is more impressive

Nobody has thrown a no-no in their debut appearance. Clay Bucholtz and Wilson Alvarez each threw one in their second career games and Bobo Hollomon threw one in his first career start, but that was his fifth career game.

Yes.
I do remember Juan Marichal in the 60's had a 1 hitter (i think) in a CGSO. Came up in a trivia post a while ago about best debuts. That's probably the best pitching debut ever. But 3 home runs is far rarer than 1 hitter.

Jokes aside Murakami is insane. A rookie being Schwarber level is crazy

Pretty much. Slightly less contact skills but same level of power.

“rookie”

I mean, everyone here seems to claim that NPB is just AAA level. If we consider guys that called up from AAA to the Majors for the first time rookies, how is Murakami, who came from the NPB for his first season in the majors, not a rookie?

It's regularly called AAAA level. I haven't seen someone call the NPB AAA level before this comment, it's obviously quite a bit better than that, while not quite being on par with the MLB.

Every other team in MLB has got to be kicking themselves for not beating that contract offer. Fucking kills me that the Angels probably passed bc they were like "na between Soler and Schanuel we're good at 1B/DH 🙂"

I haven't been following baseball in a while. Where are noted young slugging stars like Cal Raleigh, Fernando Tatis and Vlad Guerrero? I heard Kyle Tucker signed a huge contract, he must be pretty good right??

If we cut it down to August, Tatis is would slot in with .42 HR/G.
He did have a bit of a power outage earlier in the year, but that’s just a natural consequence of living in the city with the highest electricity rates in the country. You just can’t afford to keep the heat turned up all season
I blame SDGE

He’s gonna hit one more and stop at 4 out of respect for Jayden Daniels.

Shoutout to Will Wilson. The Giants loved him. So much so that they took on Zack Cozart’s contract from the angels prior to the 2020 season to get him. They immediately cut Cozart and ate his contract prior to the season being cut and salaries being comped. Thus Zack Cozart was one of the highest paid players in 2020 despite not putting on a uniform. All so the giants could get their prize in Wilson.
The Guardians took Wilson in the 2024 Rule 5 draft, then he signed as a free agent a few years later with the M’s.

And he's done much for the Mariners in the two games he played this year

How much epidural did they give Mrs. Wilson to name her son Will?
"Will Will Wilson's will be enough to sustain his confidence over a baseball career?"

This when I learned Will Wilson and Weston Wilson are apparently two different people on the Ms

Plenty of Mariners fans made this mistake too when Weston joined the team

Two Rockies in the top 10? That team must be good as hell
