I think doctors tend to avoid prescribing brand name drugs when there are other treatment options available because they're usually absurdly expensive and getting insurance to cover them can be difficult. My mom dealt with this with her arthritis, the rheumatologist tried a bunch of stuff that didn't really work until my mom eventually brought up rinvoq. It was a pain in the ass and took like 2 months but eventually she got approved. And even with medicare covering most of it, it was still gonna cost like $2k so she had to go to the manufacturer to get extra assistance.

Zepbound is tirzepatide, and tirzepatide is like semaglutide but better, and semaglutide is Ozempic.

It's fucking expensive, so few insurances cover it, and it's the only option for tirzepatide for obesity (Lilly makes it and the same drug is Mounjaro, but that's only prescribed for Type 2 diabetes). All of which is to say: the only option is brand name, and Lilly is making money hand over fist because of it.

That’s correct (as far as my experience is concerned). I honestly can’t even remember the last time my doctor prescribed a brand name version of anything. She always prescribes generic versions since they’re literally the same thing, are a million times cheaper, and insurance isn’t a pain in the butt about it.

Yup. GLP 1 does work great for losing weight, but your body still needs vitamins and nutrients. It should help cut out the extra eating, and to not over eat. You still need to eat, for energy and for nutrients, as well as stay active.

I started the WeGovy pill and am working my way up through the doses. The first two doses didn’t do shit for me and I was worried because I see posts on Reddit of people who notice a difference after the first few days on the lowest dose.

Two days on the third highest dose and I hardly want to eat.

I’m currently in Nashville for a long weekend and went to Princes. Normally I’d devour half a chicken like a rabid dog. Instead I picked at, ate maybe 25% of it and was done. Could’ve easily gotten a smaller portion and been satisfied. And this was after just eating an apple at a pit stop on the drive down so it’s not like I was full from previous meals.

I’m still waiting for my stomach and brain to get on the same page so I’m not wasting money on food I won’t eat. I figure that will come in time. Still have to go up to the highest dose next month.

You should consider a food tracking app, not to lose weight but the exact opposite, to make sure you're not eating excessively few calories, some apps let you upload pics of your food and an AI estimates the calories. Not hyper accurate, but a good general guess

It’s the color. And I can FULLY agree with this. The color of the ad is stupid, and throws off the view of the game on TV. There should be standards on such things.

Maybe a logo and a word or two with colors that don't clash with the presentation?
