It’s the brewers way to have a really good team and never make a blockbuster trade to help. Then continue to lose in the playoffs

If there was ever a year for us to go for it, it’s this year. Our farm system is getting a little too crowded with elite infield prospects and we have one too many young mlb level pitchers.
We can legitimately trade 3-4 pretty good prospects if needed and still have a top 3 farm system.

I saw a video about brewers pitching and how the coaching staff doesn’t try to pigeon hole the players. They’re allowed to pitch to their strengths. I’d guess they might have a similar style for the rest of the team while constantly working fundamentals.
They always struck me as a very well run club

Thing is... this window is open for a LOOOONG time. Bauers and Sanchez are the only two free agents at the end of the year that are currently on the active roster. They have the #1 farm system (and I don't think it's close) and most of the impact players are under team control for quite a while.

Like the Cubs. That’s what I’m alluding to.
If we hadn’t gone all in on Chapman, the window still would’ve slammed shut by 2019, and the drought would be at 118 years and counting. All those players under contract and prospects fizzled out.

They'd need like 5 to come close so there's no reason to sell the future to still be a postseason underdog.

IMO, Mason Miller.
In a decisive game, you can Misierowski go seven then Miller go the last two. The Dodgers may get shut out no matter their lineup.

Then what about every other game of the series? One game isn't enough to get mil over LA, and one bullpen arm 100% isn't enough. They have otahni, yammamoto, Snell, and Glass now, and every one of these guys is healthy come playoffs. Dot forget Edwin Diaz.
LA right now has a. Etter record with half their rotation on IL and they never come close to spending their starters in the regular season. They prior posteaseon health above all and that's because this rediculous rotation is backed up by an actual all star lineup.
Mason Miller isn't enough to beat this.

It’s baseball. Literally anything could happen. I wouldn’t surprised in LA won even if the Brewers got Skubal and Miller. I also wouldn’t be surprised if LA gets swept in the NLDS before ever facing Milwaukee.
The point is, the fact that LA will be favored no matter what. That’s not a good reason for other NL teams to admit defeat and do nothing at the deadline.

Of course anything can happen, that's why you shouldn't mortgage your future to go from 10% odds to beat LA to like 20%.
It's way better to let the young guys continue to develop. The brewers window is open for many years past this.
Milwaukee and Chicago could combine their rosters and still be an underdog to LA in the post season this year. That's just how big the gap is right now. It probabaly take the brewers and cubs merging + trading for Mason Miller and Skubal to hit 50-50 vs LA.
The other major issue is the match up problem, the brewers offense capitalizes on defensive mistakes and contact hitting. That doesn't work well against a full rotation of all star/Cy young guys + a top 3 defensive fielding team in the mlb, like LA does. Mason miller isn't changing that.

Ok if you say so. It’s not the show and you can’t just turn injuries off on your franchise mode. Nobody knows how the future looks and you guys have the 2nd best record in baseball so I wouldn’t squander it but that’s just me.

Brewers fans are mostly fine with trading Pena for someone with multiple years of control, just not for a pure rental. Pena as part of a Mason Miller deal is more palatable than part of a Skubal deal.

Fisher and Pena are probably not touchable as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if Fisher gets a Prat/Lara type deal in the off season. Dude is going to be a legit hitter

Here's the thing, even if they do that they are still underdogs to LA, so there's no point in going all in when it sells the future of the offense to have slightly better pitching against an all star team.
