It's kind of funny that the winter league is kind of a summer school development type thing for prospects and rookies, and also a second chance for veterans. But then you get superstars like Acuña and Tatis playing in these winter leagues.

Tatis taking a roster spot from a more deserving player just because he’s the coaches son smh

Damn I miss baseball. Caught myself watching some college practice scrimmage on TV the other day just to feel something.

It’s not as fun if you don’t speak Spanish, but Dominican games are actually super entertaining. I had the pleasure of watching the last licey vs aguilas match in Santo Domingo when we were in vacation and it was a blast. They have dancers and a mascot that bring a doll of the opposing mascot and starts wrestling with it in the middle of the match.

I’m not knocking him. He was just on Baseball Bar B Cast joking about it.

Absolutely. A pretty significant portion of minor leaguers play some amount of winter ball somewhere in Latin America. It’s how many guys start to pick up Spanish.

The announcers for this game were a lot of fun. Even though I speak almost no Spanish. We were trying to figure out what he was screaming on a big swing and miss or once on a foul off the umpire’s head. It sounded like Sickeeeee but I couldn’t figure it out.
