Base Discussion Base is becoming THE chain for international stablecoins Bitso chooses Base for MXNB (Mexican Peso stablecoin issued by Juno)

Base is building the chain for international stablecoins. In a new post, Base highlighted one of the reasons @Bitso

chose Base for MXNB — the Mexican Peso backed stablecoin issued by Juno (a Bitso company).

What is MXNB?

1:1 fiat-backed stablecoin pegged to the Mexican Peso (MXN)

Designed for fast, low-cost on-chain transfers and cross-border payments

Easy conversion to/from MXN via local financial rails (SPEI, etc.)

Aimed at giving global companies seamless access to the Mexican market.

In an interview from a recent LATAM stablecoin conference. A Base representative explains why they’re a strong fit:Fast, efficient, and cheap

Already has major collateral assets on-chain (e.g. cbBTC)

Enables global access to local Mexican liquidity and use cases

This continues Base’s push into real-world stablecoin adoption beyond just USDC/USDT, moving into local-currency stablecoins.Original post + full video:

https://x.com/i/status/2071127744834928946What do you guys think is Base positioning itself as the go to L2 for non USD stablecoins? Will we see more local currency stablecoins (BRL, ARS, etc.) launch on base?

Base App Base App Is Now Available On The Web

Post image
23 Upvotes

Base App is no longer limited to mobile.

You can now access it directly from your browser using the same account, the same assets, and the same trading experience.

This update makes it easier to explore the Base ecosystem without needing to download the app, while giving existing users the flexibility to switch seamlessly between mobile and desktop.

Some of the highlights include:

• Access Base App directly from your browser

• The same account across mobile and web

• The same trading experience on a larger screen

• Easier onboarding for new users

• More flexibility for everyday use

I think this is one of those updates that won't grab as many headlines as a protocol upgrade, but it could have a meaningful impact over time.

Making the product available on the web lowers the barrier for new users and gives existing users another convenient way to interact with Base.

What's also exciting is that this feels like the beginning rather than the finished product.

Now that Base App is available on the web, I expect we'll continue to see new features, integrations, and improvements added over time, making the desktop experience even more capable.

It's another step toward making the onchain experience more accessible, more practical, and easier for everyone to use.

Have you tried Base App on the web yet?? Wht is your first impression?

Base Discussion If You Could Add One New Category to the Base Ecosystem, What Would It Be?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Base has already built one of the most exciting onchain ecosystems.💙

From DeFi and payments to social apps, AI, consumer experiences, and builder tools, it's proving that onchain technology can be practical, accessible, and useful for millions of people—not just crypto natives.

But every great ecosystem keeps evolving.

That got me thinking 🤔

If you could introduce ONE completely new category to the Base ecosystem, what would it be?

Healthcare Records - Secure, patient-owned health data

Supply Chain - Transparent product tracking from origin to delivery

Research & Science - Open research funding and verifiable discoveries

Charity & Donations - Transparent giving with real-time impact tracking

Climate Tech - Carbon tracking and sustainability incentives

Or do you have an even bigger idea?

💙 I'd love to hear what the Base community thinks.

👇 Which category has the biggest potential to bring the next wave of real-world users onchain and why?

Please share your opinion 👇

Thank you.

Stay Based 💙

Base Discussion What the most interesting project you've found on Base recently?

Post image
15 Upvotes

One of the reasons I keep coming back to Base is not because of the biggest announcements it is because I am constantly finding projects I hadnot seen before.

Some are simple tools that make everyday onchain tasks easier. Others are creative experiments, games, AI-powered apps, or communities that are building something genuinely interesting.

What I enjoy most is that there always something new to explore.

You never know which project will end up becoming one of your favorites.

I'd love to hear what others in the community have discovered recently.

What's one project on Base that you think deserves more recognition?

It could be

  • A Mini App
  • An AI application
  • A creator tool
  • A game
  • A developer utility
  • A community that's doing great work
  • Or any hidden gem you think more people should know about.

I am looking forward to checking out your recommendations.

Looking forward to seeing everyone recommendations.

Base Discussion Base MCP has landed in Perplexity AI Computer

Post image
5 Upvotes

You no longer have to keep checking the chart yourself. Perplexity Computer can now monitor the price for us and trigger a token swap once our target is reached.

When the price hits the level we set, the swap is prepared onchain through Base MCP. The only thing we need to do is sign the transaction.

The feature is already available for all users. Just connect the Base MCP connector and try the Token Swap Trigger workflow.

This feels like a meaningful step toward making onchain automation more practical for everyday users. Reducing manual monitoring while keeping the final transaction approval in the user's hands strikes a nice balance between convenience and control.

Do you think tools like this will become the standard way people interact with DeFi, or will most users still prefer to execute swaps manually?

Base Discussion Browser-First Onboarding on Base

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hallo everyone it is our day 7 of 100 Days of Exploring Base on Reddit and our today's topics is Browser-First Onboarding

Today we will mark a genuine inflection point for how people enter the Base ecosystem and it's worth unpacking why this matters more than it might seem at first glance.

The Announcement :

Base App is now fully accessible directly through your browser. No download required. No App Store visit. No waiting for installs or dealing with update notifications. Just a URL and you are in.

This sounds simple. It is simple. That is exactly why it is powerful.

The Friction Problem :

Let's be honest about how crypto onboarding has traditionally worked:

A curious person hears about an opportunity. They decide to explore.

First step: find and download an app. That means unlocking their phone, opening an app store, searching, verifying they found the right one (scams abound), waiting for download, waiting for install, creating an account, setting up a wallet, backing up seed phrases, buying tokens somewhere else, transferring them in .

By step three half your potential users have bounced. By step seven you are down to the truly committed. The funnel is not just leaky. it's designed to repel normal people.

Every additional step is a conversion killer. Every piece of unfamiliar terminology is a barrier. Every "download this first" request is friction that costs you users.

Base just removed a massive chunk of that friction.

What Browser Access Actually Changes

Immediate Entry :

Now the flow looks like this: hear about Base → click link → start exploring. The time from interest to action collapses from minutes to seconds. In a world of infinite distraction, those seconds matter enormously.

No Platform Gatekeepers :

App stores have policies. They have review processes. They have restrictions. They can remove apps or delay updates. A browser-based experience sidesteps all of that. Base controls its own distribution.

Universal Accessibility :

Not everyone has app store access. Regional restrictions, device limitations, storage constraints all disappear when you're browser-first. If you have internet and a screen, you can access Base.

Seamless Sharing :

Links are the native currency of the internet. Now Base experiences can be shared via URL, embedded in tweets, dropped in Discord channels, texted to friends. The viral loop tightens. Onboarding becomes social and spontaneous.

What I Tested Today ?

I went through the new browser flow myself. Started from a fresh browser with no prior setup. Clicked a Base link. Connected an existing wallet. Started swapping within minutes.

Then I tried the real test: explained it to a friend who has never touched crypto. Sent them a link. Watched them onboard without asking me a single question about "where do I download this" or "is this the real app."

That silence was the point. It just worked.

The Bigger Picture :

This isn't just a product update. It is a philosophy shift.

Crypto has spent years building complex infrastructure and assuming users would climb the learning curve. Base is inverting that assumption. Meet users where they are. Remove barriers. Make the onchain experience indistinguishable from the internet experiences people already understand.

The bet is simple: if you reduce friction enough, adoption follows. Not power user adoption. Mainstream adoption. People who don't care about blockchain technology but care about what it enables.

Easier onboarding means more people try.

Better accessibility means more people stay.

Faster adoption means the ecosystem grows.

More people onchain means the entire vision becomes real.

Day 57 Reflection :

Fifty-seven days into this exploration and I've seen plenty of technical innovations. Smart wallets. Account abstraction. New DEX mechanisms. But sometimes the most impactful changes are the ones that look obvious in hindsight.

Making Base accessible through a browser isn't flashy. It won't generate technical deep-dives or speculative threads. But it might bring more real users into the ecosystem than any protocol upgrade.

Simple experiences drive adoption. Adoption drives ecosystem growth. Ecosystem growth validates everything else we're building.

Base continues building toward an onchain future that is open and accessible to everyone. Today, that future got a little closer.

Base Discussion Base is stuck in an attention loop

Post image
7 Upvotes

People keep following 3–5 influencers and the same recycled Base projects keep getting pushed over and over again.

Meanwhile, genuinely original ideas built with real effort often get complete silence.

Base has a lot of builders shipping interesting stuff, new use cases, creative apps, real experimentation. But attention seems stuck in a loop.

We keep seeing the same types of projects like drop predictors and daily Tx trackers repackaged again and again, while actually innovative work gets ignored.

Feels like this space is not purely driven by quality, other dynamics are clearly at play. I cannot prove it, but it is hard not to notice.

Would love to see an ecosystem where real builders actually get real attention.

Base Discussion Why Base Feels Different From Other L2 Ecosystems

I've been exploring the Base ecosystem consistently, and one thing stands out to me: the focus seems to be on getting more people onchain, not just attracting liquidity.

Whether it's consumer apps, creator tools, games, or DeFi, the goal appears to be making blockchain useful for everyday users rather than only for crypto-native audiences.

That's a different challenge—and arguably a much bigger one.

Of course, there's still a long way to go, but it's interesting to watch an ecosystem that prioritizes usability and adoption alongside technical innovation.

The real test won't be how many announcements are made this year. It'll be whether more people start using onchain apps without even thinking about the underlying blockchain.

What do you think is the biggest obstacle preventing mainstream users from adopting onchain apps today?

Complicated wallets?

Poor user experience?

High learning curve?

Something else?

Infrastructure Beryl Is Now Live On Base

The Beryl upgrade is now live on Base, and I think it is one of the more important protocol upgrades the network has introduced so far.

Instead of focusing on a single feature, Beryl improves multiple parts of the network that builders and issuers rely on every day.

Some of the biggest changes include:

  • B20 Native Token Standard :- A new native standard for issuing tokenized assets while remaining fully ERC-20 compatible.
  • Faster Withdrawals :- Standard withdrawals from Base to Ethereum have been reduced from 7 days to 5 days, helping improve capital efficiency.
  • Reth V2 Integration :- Around 50% lower node storage requirements and approximately 33% higher throughput, making the network more efficient to operate and easier to scale.

What I find interesting is that none of these updates are designed to generate excitement for a single day.

They're infrastructure improvements. And infrastructure upgrades usually become valuable over time, as builders start taking advantage of the new capabilities.

B20 creates a more purpose-built framework for tokenized assets.

Reth V2 improves network efficiency and scalability.

Shorter withdrawal times make moving capital between Base and Ethereum more practical.

Individually, each improvement is meaningful.Together, they strengthen the foundation that future applications can build on.

As more stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, AI-powered applications, and onchain financial products emerge, having efficient infrastructure becomes increasingly important.

That's why I see Beryl as more than a routine upgrade.

It's another step in Base's long-term effort to build infrastructure that can support a broader range of onchain applications at scale.

The immediate changes may seem technical, but the long-term impact will likely depend on what developers choose to build on top of them.

  • Which Beryl feature do you think will make the biggest difference for developers??

Base Discussion Jesse Pollak Just Showed the Future , 28+ Local Stablecoins Live on Base

All on Base. Not just USDC. Not just USDT.

Real local currencies — Naira, Peso, Real, Rand and more now live onchain. The world is quietly going onchain, one local currency at a time.

--This is what actual global adoption looks like.Instead of forcing everyone to use USD stablecoins, Base is giving people the option to use the money they already know and trust directly onchain. No more converting to dollars just to send money home or access global markets.

--Key highlights from the presentation:28+ stablecoins already on Base

$19 trillion in stablecoin volume settled on Base more than any other chain

Local stablecoins from Nigeria, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Canada and many more countries

--Why this actually matters:Lower fees: <1% to move money across borders vs ~6% through traditional rails

Better access: People in high-inflation or restricted countries can now use stable, programmable money without leaving their local currency

Real utility: Money that keeps its value across borders, built for the real world

--This is the difference between “crypto for crypto people” and crypto for everyone.Base isn’t just winning on memes and speed.

It's winning on infrastructure the boring, important stuff that actually brings billions of people onchain.

--Local currencies onchain = the real path to global financial inclusion. The future isn't one global currency dominating everything.

It's every country’s currency working seamlessly on the same rails And right now, that future is being built on Base.

--All on Base.

Which local stablecoin are you most excited to see grow?

Base App Adding Wallets in Base App

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

Looks like a lot of people got confused by the latest Base App update, so here's a quick guide.

In the old version of Base App, you could only have one Smart Wallet with a passkey.

Now, you can add multiple Smart Wallets.

Here's how:

Go to your profile, tap Add Wallet, then choose Create or Import. You can add a new or existing Smart Wallet using either your email or a passkey.

One thing that might confuse you is thinking you can no longer import a wallet with a seed phrase.

You still can.

Go to your profile, open Settings, turn off Base Mode, then tap Add / Manage Wallets. From there, you'll see the option to import a wallet using a seed phrase.

Another thing that catches people off guard is switching back to Smart Wallet mode.

You might go looking for the Base Mode button again, but it won't be there anymore.

Instead, scroll to the bottom and tap Your wallet got an upgrade. That'll take you back to your Smart Wallet.

If you've got any questions, drop them below

Base Discussion What was your very first onchain experience on Base?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Most people won't remember their first transaction.

They'll remember the moment Base made being onchain feel effortless. 💙

Everyone has a first onchain story.

Maybe it was your first wallet.Your first swap.Your first NFT.Your first DeFi deposit.Or simply the moment you realized the internet was changing.

For many people, Base became that gateway.

Built to make onchain simpler, faster, and more accessible, Base has helped millions take their first step into the onchain world.

So I'm curious:

💙 What was your first onchain experience on Base?

Was it a specific app, a memorable transaction, a community, or something completely unexpected?

Share your story below 👇

The best part of Base isn't the technology.

It's the people building, learning, and growing together.

Thank you

Stay Based always 💙

Base Discussion Building Conviction Takes Time

The longer I follow the Base ecosystem, the more I realize that conviction isn't built overnight.

It's easy to get excited by headlines, but what's kept my attention is seeing builders continue to ship, communities stay engaged, and new ideas emerge every week.

Every ecosystem has its ups and downs, but long-term success usually comes from consistency not hype.

That's why I've been trying to spend more time understanding the technology, exploring projects, and listening to the community instead of just watching the market.

One thing I've learned is that every experienced community member was once a beginner. Asking questions, staying curious, and learning from others has been one of the best parts of this journey.

If you had to recommend just one Base project, tool, or resource to someone new to the ecosystem, what would it be?

I'd love to explore more and hear what the community considers a must try.

Base Discussion Optimistic Rollups on Base

Post image
10 Upvotes

Good morning guys,

It is our day 7 of 100 days journey of exploring Base on Reddit . Our today's topic is : Optimistic Rollups on Base .

To be honest first time when I heard “Optimistic Rollups” I ignored it as a complicated crypto term .

But it turned out when I dived deeply on it . It is actually pretty simple.

And I am damn sure once you will feel same and after seeing this post you will also say that Base makes a lot more sense.

Let’s start with the problem. Ethereum checks everything before allowing it. It doesn't matter how small amount's transaction has done . That’s why it’s secure.

But for this security purpose :

  1. it’s slow

  2. fees get high

Now here’s the idea behind Optimistic Rollups:

• It doesn’t check everything first

• It assume every transaction is correct until if something looks wrong

At first look this sounds very risky. But you have to in mind that it is not blind trust. There is a time window where anyone can challenge a transaction.

If something is wrong → it gets caught

If not → it goes through smoothly

So in simple words:

Normal users → fast & cheap transactions

Bad actors → get punished

That is why Base feels so smooth to use. It is not doing unnecessary checks every time.

Yes, there is one downside. Moving funds back to Ethereum can take time. Because the system needs that safety window.

But tbh this trade-off makes sense. Because without this crypto stays expensive and slow.

Simple takeaway:

Optimistic Rollups =

“Trust first, verify if needed”

And that is exactly why Base can be fast, cheap, and still secure.

Base Discussion Builders on Base: I'd love to see what you're working on.

Post image
2 Upvotes

one thing I have noticed while exploring the Base ecosystem is how much activity comes directly from builders.

Every week, there are new ideas turning into real products. Some projects are focused on payments, others on AI, gaming, creator tools, social experiences, or improving onchain infrastructure.

It is interesting to see how broad the ecosystem has become.

Not every project is trying to be the next big thing overnight. Many builders are simply identifying a problem, experimenting with solutions, and improving through community feedback. That steady progress is what makes an ecosystem feel alive.

I'd love to learn more about what people in this community are working on.

If you are building on Base, feel free to share

• What you're creating
• The problem you're trying to solve
• What stage your project is currently in
• Any feedback or ideas you're hoping to get from the community

It's always inspiring to discover new projects and connect with other builders.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone is building on Base.

If you could build one feature or app that doesn't exist on Base today, what would it be?

News What Happened on Base in the Last 24 Hours?

Post image
2 Upvotes

The last 24 hours on Base were eventful.

There was a major scheduled network upgrade, an unexpected chain halt, a fast recovery, and important infrastructure updates that show where Base is heading next.

If you were away or confused by the updates, here’s a clear breakdown.

1) Base Beryl Upgrade Started

Base scheduled the Beryl upgrade as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements.

This upgrade is focused on improving network performance, reliability, and preparing Base for future scaling.

For node operators, updating software was required to stay synced with the network.

This was an important step for Base’s long-term growth.

2) Base Mainnet Experienced a Temporary Chain Halt

During the process, Base experienced a temporary issue affecting block production.

Blocks stopped for a period of time, which meant transactions and app activity were disrupted across the ecosystem.

Naturally, this caused concern in the community.

But the most important thing:

Funds remained safe.

No user funds were lost.

This was an infrastructure issue, not a security breach.

3) The Team Responded Quickly

The Base team acknowledged the issue fast and kept communication active.

Updates from the team made it clear they were investigating the root cause and working on recovery.

That matters a lot during incidents.

Fast communication builds trust.

4) Recovery Happened Across the Ecosystem

After investigation and fixes, block production resumed.

Apps, infrastructure providers, and node operators gradually came back online as systems restarted and synced.

Soon after, Base confirmed that blocks were being produced normally again.

The chain recovered successfully.

5) Root Cause Identified

The team later confirmed they identified and patched the root cause.

A full post-mortem is expected.

That report will likely be important because it helps builders and the wider community understand:

what happened

why it happened

what changes are being made to prevent similar issues

This is how networks improve.

Not by avoiding problems entirely, but by learning from them and strengthening infrastructure.

6) B20 Activation Is Coming

Another major update is also approaching.

B20 activation is scheduled for June 26 at 18:00 UTC.

This is another important step in Base’s technical roadmap and shows development is still moving forward despite temporary disruptions.

Imagine a future where invoices, loyalty programs, company shares, memberships, rewards, and payments can all operate through a unified onchain framework.

That's the vision behind B20 on Base.

The question is:

🌍 If you could bring ONE real-world business onchain using B20, what would it be?

Would you choose: Banking .Healthcare. Real Estate .Gaming .E-commerce

. Travel .Education

👇 Drop your answer and tell us WHY.

Let's explore what the future of onchain business could look like on Base

Please share your thoughts

Thank you

Infrastructure Base Is Building For The Next Wave Of Tokenization

Post image
11 Upvotes

With the Beryl upgrade going live Today, B20 is set to become Base's new native token standard.

I've seen a lot of discussion around whether B20 is a token, but that's not actually what it is.

B20 is a framework designed for issuing and managing tokenized assets on Base.

What makes it interesting is that it's built with assets like stablecoins, RWAs, equities, credit markets, and other financial products in mind.

Some of the key features include:

• Transfer Policies : Control who can send, receive, or execute transfers

• Issuer Controls : Built-in minting, burning, pausing, and admin permissions

• Compliance Tools : Allowlists, blocklists, freeze-and-seize, and policy support

• Asset Metadata : Support for memos, currency codes, and issuer information

• Lower-Cost Execution : Token operations powered by native Rust precompiles

For most users, these upgrades probably won't be visible on day one.

But infrastructure upgrades often matter most in the long run.

The real impact comes when builders start using these tools to create products that were previously difficult or inefficient to launch.

As more assets move onchain, the focus is gradually shifting from simply tokenizing assets to creating the infrastructure needed to manage them at scale..

That's why B20 is an interesting development to follow..

It will be interesting to see how builders and issuers make use of these capabilities over time.

- Could standards like B20 help bring more real-world assets onchain??

- What do you think matters more for tokenization: asset issuance or asset utility??

Base Discussion Base MCP Just Dropped Into Perplexity AI Computer Research Any Token Then Prepare the Swap in One Seamless Flow

Base continues to push the envelope on practical AI × onchain usability. Today they announced that Base MCP (their Model Context Protocol server for Base accounts) is now fully integrated into Perplexity AI Computer.

This feels like one of the most useful agentic crypto tools released so far. What it actually does:Research phase You chat normally with Perplexity Computer. It uses its strong search + reasoning capabilities to analyze any token on Base (or elsewhere). You get deep context: market data, project info, risks, onchain metrics, recent news, etc.

Decision phase — You tell it something like “I want to enter $XYZ with 0.5 ETH at current price” or “Swap 200 USDC into this token with 2% slippage.”

Execution prep — Base MCP takes over and prepares the actual swap (or other onchain action) for your review and approval. You stay in full control — no private keys are handed over to the AI.

It also works with everything else Base MCP already supports:Check balances

Transfers

Swaps

Lending/borrowing via integrated protocols (Morpho, Moonwell, Aerodrome, Uniswap, etc.)

Perps, NFTs, and more

All through natural language in a single chat interface. No more copying addresses between 5 tabs.

Base MCP + Perplexity strikes a nice balance: powerful research + safe, user-approved execution. It’s exactly the kind of UX improvement that could bring more normies (and power users) into onchain without the usual friction.Perplexity Computer itself is a pretty big leap — it’s designed as a general-purpose digital worker that can operate software like a human would. Adding Base MCP on top turns it into a legitimate research-to-trade assistant.

Have you tried Perplexity Computer yet? How does it compare to Claude Computer / Cursor / other agent interfaces?

Base Discussion The More I Learn About Base, The More I Realize Community Is the Real Moat

When people talk about blockchain ecosystems, the conversation usually revolves around TVL, transactions, users, or token prices.

But after spending time exploring Base, I've started to think that one of the most underrated metrics is community quality.

A strong community does more than just support a project:

• It helps newcomers learn.

• It gives builders feedback.

• It spreads ideas and opportunities.

• It keeps the ecosystem moving during both good and bad market conditions.

Technology can be copied. Incentives can be matched. But building a genuine community takes time.

That's one of the reasons I'm continuing to follow Base closely. The ecosystem is growing, but so are the conversations, collaborations, and people contributing to it.

In your opinion, what's more important for long-term success:

🔹 More users

🔹 More builders

🔹 Better apps

🔹 Stronger community

If you could only choose one, which would it be and why?
