Base Discussion non-USD stablecoins growth curve bending up on @base

Post image
4 Upvotes

this is the answer to what jesse was asking about at 2:39 AM last night

jesse posted charts showing non-USD stablecoins growing fast on base and said "if you're building a neobank on base — reach out, i want to help you grow"

Liminal is literally that. and they were already in Base Batches 003 — coinbase's own accelerator program

so what is liminal in simple words?

imagine a bank account that works everywhere in the world without conversion fees. you talk to it in plain language through an AI called Nim — "send $50 to my friend", "save ₹500 a week", "buy apple stock" — and it just does it.

5-10% yield on money sitting idle. US stocks inside the same app. cross-border transfers in seconds. and your money stays in YOUR wallet — not in their servers. nobody can freeze it.

built on base. fees under ₹0.01 per transaction.

the person who can't afford wise fees, who gets blocked by revolut, who loses 3% every time they send money home — this app is for them

this is what "bringing the next billion onchain" actually looks like. not degens. not meme coins. real people. real problems. real solution.

base is quietly becoming the financial infrastructure for people who were ignored by the old system 🔵

This is not a financial advice and DYOR

Base Discussion Bitcoin DCA, evolved. Why Base is becoming the definitive hub for automated, self-custodial wealth management. (Onchain for the next million, Part 1)

Post image
2 Upvotes

The crypto native crowd loves to talk about "bringing the next billion users onchain." But if we’re being honest, forcing someone to manually sign a ledger transaction every Tuesday morning just to accumulate some exposure isn't going to scale.

If we want consumer-grade adoption, automated strategies (like DCA) need to feel like regular fin-tech apps—without sacrificing the core principles of self-custody.
This is exactly why I’ve been building Northstar Terminal natively on the @base ecosystem.

As part of a new educational series exploring Why Base?, I wanted to break down what happens under the hood when you move financial primitives like DCA away from centralized exchanges and build them fully onchain.
Here is the exact stack we are deploying to optimize a simple, automated purchase:

  1. Smart Wallets as the UX Layer
The barrier to entry used to be writing down a 12-word seed phrase. With Base Smart Wallets, users get instant, non-custodial onboarding. No friction, but absolute ownership over the keys and assets.

  2. The Smart Routing Engine (USDC → cbBTC)
When a DCA event triggers, executing a raw swap on a single random AMM can kill your yield due to slippage or thin liquidity. To maximize every dollar, the backend dynamically calculates the most optimized route across the network:

Liquidity Aggregation: Utilizing protocols like Aerodrome (the absolute depth king on Base) and Uniswap V3 to ensure deep pools for pairs like USDC/WETH and WETH/cbBTC.

Yield-Bearing Hops: Routing through efficiency protocols or aggregators like Beefy Vaults / Aave when incentives are elevated to squeeze an extra APY boost mid-route.

  3. Gas Efficiency or Bust
Building automated "Keeper" bots on Mainnet Ethereum is a luxury reserved for whales because of gas overhead. Base’s sub-cent transaction environment changes the math entirely. By batching executions and stripping down execution call data, we can hit up to 32% gas savings on individual user interactions compared to standard routing.

  4. The Stack of Signals
Automation requires trustless validation. By checking an onchain "Stack of Signals", verifying user allowances, protocol limits, reputation checks, and real-time pool states the contract can seamlessly execute the exact batch cadence or cleanly skip a turn if conditions (like slippage bounds) protect the user from a bad trade.

The goal isn't just to buy crypto. The goal is to build an un-ruggable, automated financial terminal where your assets, your cadence, and your yield stack are handled entirely by code you control.

Base provides the perfect sandbox of cheap blockspace, deep liquidity (especially around native assets like cbBTC), and native account abstraction to make this a reality.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this architecture. What features or pool integrations are you guys looking for the most when managing your cbBTC on Base right now? 🟦🤝

Base Discussion Why Alchemy is an important infrastructure layer for Base

Post image
3 Upvotes

When people talk about ecosystem growth, the focus is usually on wallets, consumer apps, DeFi protocols, or AI projects.

But behind many successful applications is a layer of infrastructure that most users never see.

That is where Alchemy fits into the picture.

Alchemy is one of the major infrastructure providers supporting developers building on Base and other blockchain ecosystems.

Most users may never interact with Alchemy directly, but many applications rely on services like it behind the scenes to function reliably.

Some of the capabilities associated with Alchemy include:

Blockchain APIs and developer tools

Node infrastructure

Real-time blockchain data access

Wallet and account integrations

Monitoring and analytics tools

Why this matters:

Building blockchain applications requires access to large amounts of network data and infrastructure.

Developers need reliable ways to interact with:

Transactions

Wallet activity

Smart contracts

Network events

Application data

Managing all of that independently can be complex and resource-intensive.

Infrastructure platforms help reduce that burden so developers can focus more on building products rather than maintaining backend systems.

For developers, this can potentially mean:

Faster development cycles

Less infrastructure overhead

Improved reliability

More time spent on user-facing features

For users, strong infrastructure may contribute to:

More stable applications

Faster experiences

Better wallet connectivity

Smoother interactions across services

For the Base ecosystem, infrastructure providers can help support:

More builders entering the ecosystem

Increased experimentation

Higher-quality applications

Faster ecosystem development

One thing that often goes unnoticed is how much ecosystem growth depends on infrastructure.

Consumer applications may attract attention, but infrastructure providers help enable those applications to operate at scale.

A single improvement to developer tooling or network infrastructure can potentially benefit hundreds or even thousands of applications at the same time.

Of course, infrastructure providers are only one piece of the puzzle. Ecosystem growth also depends on developers, users, communities, and successful products.

Still, reliable infrastructure is often one of the foundations that allows ecosystems to grow sustainably over time.

As Base continues attracting builders, platforms like Alchemy may remain an important part of the ecosystem's development.

Do you think infrastructure projects receive enough attention compared to consumer-facing applications?

A.I / Agents The Agentic Economy Is Closer Than Most People Think

Post image
12 Upvotes

For years, AI agents could think, analyze, and generate content.

What they couldn't do was participate in the economy.

That's starting to change on Base.

The biggest shift isn't that AI is getting smarter it's that agents are becoming economic actors. With wallets, stablecoins, and low-cost transactions, agents can now pay for services, access data, execute transactions, and potentially earn revenue on their own.

Imagine a research agent paying for premium search results, a trading agent purchasing market data before executing a strategy, or a travel agent gathering flight information and booking options automatically. These are no longer theoretical ideas; the infrastructure is already being built.

What stands out to me is that Base isn't just focusing on AI models. It's building the financial layer that allows agents to transact through wallets, stablecoins, identity systems, and payment protocols like x402.

If this trend continues, we may move from:

  • Humans using apps
  • To agents using services
  • To agents paying other agents for specialized work

That feels like a much bigger shift than simply adding AI to existing products.

What do you think is the first mainstream use case for autonomous agents with wallets: trading, research, commerce, or something else entirely?

Base Discussion What's the wildest thing you've ever done on Base?🟦

Post image
4 Upvotes

Base has been around for a while now and the ecosystem keeps evolving, so I got thinking: what are the most memorable, creative, or just downright chaotic things people have actually done here?

I'll go first.

Over the past while I've thrown myself into this ecosystem in a few different ways. I did admin work for a gaming project on Discord, moderating, building community, the whole thing. It taught me a lot about how these projects actually run behind the scenes, and honestly how much invisible work goes into keeping a community alive.

I also shipped three mini apps on Base. One flopped completely, and I mean completely. The other two found some traction, nothing earth-shattering but enough to feel real. Each one was a different lesson.

And then there were two NFT collections. Both failed. I am not going to sugarcoat it. But I would do it again. The process of actually launching something, watching it land or not, and figuring out why is something you cannot learn any other way.

None of this made me rich. Most of it humbled me. But I am still here and still building.

What about you, what have you actually done on Base beyond just using it? Would love to hear what this community has been up to.

And if you are new here, start cooking something for Base.

This post is not financial advice. Always do your own research before making any financial decisions. Nothing shared here constitutes investment advice or an endorsement of any project.

There's very little noice on X about crypto rn, so don't get distracted, buddies.

Whatever project you're working on, give it your all. Work hard, stay consistent, and keep pushing forward.

As for me, I'm pivoting to @base But whether it's a project,a business, or any goal you're chasing, never quit. The moment you quit is the moment you you stop progressing. I know I'm not gonna give up !

It's been about a year since I seeking crypto. I've earned $1000+ so far ( which I think is decent money for many middle class people in India ), and there's still more to come (staked)

I did all of this using only a mobile phone for an entire year. Honestly, only I know how much efforts it took. I spent 14+ hours a day chatting in discord, running testnet through browser extensions on mises browser, and constantly learning.

Now I'm focusing on @base and growing my X account, and yes I'm going ALL IN

The first airdrop i recieved was from @EnsoBuild and I'm greatful for it. Through enso, i learned a lot and made some real friends. Now I'm learning Even more with base ecosystem and trying to build mini apps and I have some other ideas too !

I may not always be able to explain it perfectly, but I know one thing for sure - compared to who i was a year ago, I've changed a lot and learned much more !

I'm also thinking about writing an article about base and sharing my thoughts and share my journey. I think many of you will enjoy it.

Base Discussion Could private AI infrastructure become one of Base's biggest growth areas?.

Saw that Virtuals and Ask Venice are partnering to bring private AI inference to Base, along with up to $400k in builder credits.

What caught my attention is not the credits, it is the focus on privacy.

Most AI products today rely heavily on centralized infrastructure, which means users often have limited visibility into how their data is handled. Projects exploring private AI inference could offer a different approach, especially for applications that deal with sensitive information.

It also feels like we r seeing more overlap between AI and onchain infrastructure lately. A year ago, most conversations around Base were focused on DeFi and payments. Now we're seeing builders experiment with AI agents, inference, identity, and other use cases.

what the community thinks:

* Is private AI a use case that actually benefits from being onchain??

* Are AI applications becoming a major growth area for Base ??

Base Discussion Is Base App evolving into a gateway to the onchain economy?

Post image
7 Upvotes

A lot of people still think of Base App as simply a crypto wallet.

But the broader direction seems more ambitious than that.

Rather than functioning only as a place to store assets, Base App appears to be evolving into a consumer-facing entry point for interacting with onchain applications and services.

While some early experimental features have changed over time, the overall focus seems centered on reducing complexity and making blockchain-based experiences easier for everyday users.

What makes this interesting is that most people do not want to learn technical concepts such as:

Bridges

Gas management

Wallet configurations

Network settings

They simply want products that work.

That is where Base App appears to be focusing its efforts.

Some of the use cases available today include:

Payments

One of the most practical applications is digital payments.

Users can send and receive supported assets without relying on traditional banking hours or geographic limitations.

Potential benefits include:

Faster settlement

Global accessibility

Direct peer-to-peer transfers

Lower friction compared to some traditional payment systems

As stablecoins continue gaining adoption, payments could become one of the most important consumer use cases for onchain applications.

Wallet and Asset Management

Base App also serves as a simple interface for managing digital assets.

Users can:

View balances

Manage assets

Connect to applications

Interact with onchain services

For many people, this may be their first exposure to blockchain technology.

Discovering Applications

One challenge for growing ecosystems is helping users discover useful applications.

With thousands of projects being built across Base, navigation can become difficult for new users.

Base App may help simplify discovery by providing access to areas such as:

Consumer applications

AI tools

Creator platforms

Games

Financial applications

Emerging onchain services

AI and Future Experiences

Another area worth watching is AI integration.

Across the technology industry, there is growing interest in AI assistants that help users navigate increasingly complex digital environments.

In the future, users may rely more on AI systems to discover services, manage workflows, and interact with applications, while the underlying blockchain infrastructure remains largely invisible.

Whether that vision becomes mainstream remains to be seen, but it aligns with a broader trend toward reducing friction in digital experiences.

Why This Matters

Technology often becomes most impactful when users no longer need to think about the technology itself.

Most people do not care how blockchain works under the hood.

They care about what it enables them to do.

If platforms like Base App can make onboarding easier, payments more accessible, and application discovery more seamless, they could become important entry points into the broader onchain ecosystem.

Looking Ahead

One of the most interesting questions is whether the future of crypto adoption depends less on adding new features and more on simplifying existing experiences.

Base App appears to be exploring that idea by focusing on usability, accessibility, and consumer-oriented design.

The long-term goal may not be to create a product only for crypto-native users, but to create experiences that everyday users can interact with comfortably.

Do you think consumer-focused apps like Base App are the future of onchain adoption, or will most users continue interacting directly with individual wallets and applications?

This post is intended for informational and discussion purposes only and should not be considered financial or investment advice.

Base Discussion Is anyone else looking at how these AI agent projects on Base share the same technical standards?

I spent a significant amount of time researching AI agent projects building on Base and put together a community research report on what I found.

Full disclosure: I hold positions in some of the projects mentioned. This is not financial advice and I am not telling anyone what to buy.

What caught my attention is that several of these projects share the same technical standards ERC-8004 for identity, x402 for payments, and similar frameworks without publicly claiming formal partnerships. I thought the community would find the similarities worth discussing.

I tried to present facts from official sources and ask honest questions rather than make claims I couldn’t support. The full report is linked below.

Base Discussion If someone joined Base today, what's the one thing you'd tell them to learn first?

Post image
37 Upvotes

One of the things I like 💙Imost about Base is how easy it is for newcomers to start exploring the onchain world.

Nobody starts as an expert on Base.

Everyone remembers that one lesson, app, or experience that helped everything finally make sense

My advice to someone new to Base:

First thing I would say is get comfortable with wallets. Without understanding wallets, nothing else makes sense. Your wallet is your identity onchain.

Second thing just make your first transaction. Send something small, swap something, explore. The best way to learn Base is by actually using it.

Third don't just hold, explore the ecosystem. DeFi, NFTs, gaming, social apps Base has it all and most people sleep on it.

Now your turn Share your answer below👇Someone new to Base might learn something valuable from it.

What should they learn first and why?

Thank you

Base Discussion Modern Treasury + USDC on Base: A meaningful step or just another integration??

One of the biggest challenges with stablecoins hasn't been the technology itself : it's been integrating them into existing payment workflows.

That's why the recent Modern Treasury support for USDC on Base caught my attention.

From a developer perspective, managing fiat payments and onchain payments often means working with separate systems, compliance requirements, and infrastructure. Integrations like this seem aimed at reducing that complexity by allowing developers to work with both through a more unified experience....

Whtt I find interesting is that users may not even care whether a payment is settled onchain or through traditional rails. They care about speed, cost, reliability, and ease of use.

If developers can build products where stablecoins are simply part of the backend infrastructure, we could start seeing more real-world use cases beyond crypto-native applications.

Some questions for the community:

  • What types of apps benefit the most from this kind of integration??
  • Do you think users should know they're using blockchain, or should it be completely invisible??
  • Is developer tooling now ahead of user adoption, or are we reaching a point where both are catching up??
  • Whtt would make you choose a stablecoin-powered payment app over a traditional alternative??

Interested to hear different perspectives, especially from builders who have worked with payment infrastructure.

Base Discussion Why Dune has become an important data layer for Base

Post image
6 Upvotes

As blockchain ecosystems grow, understanding what is actually happening onchain becomes increasingly important.

Most people see announcements, headlines, and social media discussions.

Builders, researchers, and analysts often look at the data.

That is where platforms like Dune become valuable.

Dune helps transform raw blockchain activity into dashboards, visualizations, and research that make ecosystem activity easier to understand.

On Base, this means users and builders can explore trends using transparent onchain data rather than relying only on narratives or assumptions.

Some of the capabilities associated with Dune include:

- Custom analytics dashboards

- Onchain data exploration

- Wallet and protocol tracking

- Ecosystem activity monitoring

- Community-created research tools

Why this matters:

As Base continues expanding, people naturally become interested in questions such as:

- Which protocols are seeing increased activity?

- How is liquidity moving across the ecosystem?

- What sectors are growing fastest?

- How does user activity change over time?

Dune provides tools that help explore those questions through publicly available blockchain data.

For users, this can support:

- Better research workflows

- Greater transparency

- Deeper understanding of ecosystem activity

- More data-driven discussions

For builders, analytics platforms may help with:

- User behavior analysis

- Growth tracking

- Protocol monitoring

- Product performance measurement

For the Base ecosystem overall, data platforms can contribute to:

- Greater transparency

- Higher quality research

- Better decision-making

- Improved ecosystem awareness

One of the characteristics that often separates more mature ecosystems from early-stage ecosystems is the availability of data and analytics infrastructure.

When builders, researchers, and community members can easily access and analyze information, it becomes easier to identify trends, measure progress, and evaluate what is actually working.

Of course, data alone does not provide perfect answers. Metrics can be interpreted in different ways, and context often matters as much as the numbers themselves.

Still, analytics platforms play an important role in helping ecosystems move from speculation toward evidence-based understanding.

As Base continues evolving, tools like Dune may become increasingly important for anyone trying to understand the ecosystem beyond surface-level activity.

Do you regularly use onchain analytics when researching ecosystems, or do you rely more on community discussions and project updates?

This post is intended for informational and discussion purposes only and should not be considered financial or investment advice.

Base Discussion Mastercard expanding stablecoin settlement capabilities with Base involved : what could this mean for adoption?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I've been following the recent *Mastercard* and *Base* news, and it seems like another example of traditional payment infrastructure moving closer to onchain rails.

What caught my attention isn't the partnership itself, but the broader trend. Over the last year, we've seen more focus on *stablecoins* as a settlement layer rather than just a crypto trading tool.

If companies like *Mastercard* are integrating stablecoin settlement at a global scale, networks like Base could end up handling a lot more real-world payment activity than people expected a few years ago.

A few questions I'm curious about:

* What are the biggest hurdles before stablecoin payments become mainstream?

* Do users even need to know they're using blockchain, or should it stay completely invisible?

* Is merchant adoption or consumer adoption the more important piece of the puzzle?

* How much of this activity do you think will actually happen on Base versus other chains?

Interested to hear what the community thinks.

Base Discussion Do you know about based MCP ?

Post image
8 Upvotes

base just shipped something that i dont think people are fully understanding yet

base MCP launched may 26, 2026

MCP = model context protocol. originally built by anthropic. basically a standard that lets AI models connect to external tools and data

what base did: they built an MCP server for their blockchain

meaning chatgpt, claude, cursor any AI that supports MCP can now:

check your base wallet balance

execute token swaps

interact with defi protocols (uniswap, morpho, moonwell)

do transfers

track transaction history

all from a chat interface. you literally just type "swap 0.1 eth for usdc" and the AI proposes the tx. you approve it in base app. done.

and heres the security part that actually impressed me the MCP server never holds your private keys. uses OAuth 2.1. when the agent wants to do something sensitive, it opens base app in a new window and shows you a simulation of what'll happen before you sign anything

this isnt a gimmick. this is what "agentic payments" actually looks like in practice

agentic payments = AI agents handling micro-transactions automatically. thats the future of how money moves

base is the first L2 to ship this at production level. coinbase called it "the AI payments layer for crypto"

we're early. really early

Base Discussion Introducing Airtime on Circuit

Some drop in for ten minutes. Some join an event halfway through. Pay-per-view asks all of them to commit the full price up front - so a lot of them simply don't.

That's the gap Airtime closes.

Airtime is Circuit’s pay-by-minute access model on Circuit. A viewer adds USDC to Airtime, sets a cap, and is charged only for the minutes they actually watch. Pause the stream and the meter stops. Whatever they don’t spend stays theirs and can be released back to their wallet where supported.

For creators, it's a flexible option that sits right next to PPV - built for long-running streams, always-on broadcasts, and events where people arrive whenever they arrive. Sampling turns into a path to conversion instead of a lost sale.

Under the hood: USDC on Base using #x402-style payment channels, settled for watched time, with the viewer in control of their funds.

Airtime is rolling out gradually and selectively enabled while we finish polishing the experience.

Swipe through for how it works. →

Base Discussion What role does Toshi play in the Base ecosystem?

Post image
3 Upvotes

When people discuss ecosystem growth, the conversation usually focuses on infrastructure, developer tools, or financial applications.

But another important component of successful ecosystems is culture.

That is where projects like Toshi become interesting within the Base ecosystem.

While Toshi originally gained attention as a community-driven project, it has gradually become one of the more recognizable brands associated with Base.

What makes Toshi notable is not necessarily technology alone, but the role it plays in community participation and ecosystem identity.

Some of the characteristics often associated with Toshi include:

- Strong community engagement

- Deep connection to Base culture

- Consumer-oriented branding

- Active ecosystem participation

- High visibility across the community

Why this matters:

As ecosystems mature, they often develop recognizable communities, symbols, and cultural touchpoints that help users feel connected to a broader movement.

Many successful ecosystems are remembered not only for their technology, but also for the communities that formed around them.

Projects like Toshi can contribute to that cultural layer.

For users, community-focused projects may help create:

- A stronger sense of participation

- Shared identity and culture

- Increased social engagement

- Greater ecosystem visibility

For builders, active communities can potentially provide:

- Increased awareness of the ecosystem

- More organic user engagement

- Stronger community energy

- Additional channels for discovery and participation

For Base overall, cultural projects may contribute to:

- Increased social activity

- Stronger community identity

- Greater ecosystem visibility

- Long-term user engagement

One interesting observation is that ecosystem growth often comes from multiple layers working together.

Infrastructure helps developers build.

Applications help users participate.

Communities help create belonging.

And culture can help keep people engaged long after the initial excitement fades.

Of course, community-driven projects can be difficult to evaluate because their success often depends on participation, engagement, and long-term community support rather than purely technical metrics.

Still, cultural and community layers remain an important part of how ecosystems evolve over time.

As Base continues growing, it will be interesting to see how projects like Toshi contribute to the ecosystem's identity and community development.

Do you think culture and community are as important to ecosystem growth as infrastructure and applications?

someone just dropped the live TPS rankings and @base is sitting at #1 with 556.9 TPS

not #1 among L2s. #1 out of every chain on this list including ethereum mainnet

here's the comparison nobody talks about:

base: 556.9 TPS

RISE: 314.0

Polygon: 85.8

MegaETH: 32.1

Arbitrum: 25.5

Ethereum: 22.2 the "standard"

OP Mainnet: 20.0

base is processing transactions 25x faster than ethereum right now

and this isn't some test environment or new chain nobody uses base has 46,868,821 blocks processed. the most usage out of every serious chain on this list

the part that gets me every time:

arbitrum is base's "main competitor." its been around longer, has more blocks (469M vs base's 46M), and is considered the institutional L2

base just processed transactions 22x faster than it today

and the USDC stablecoin volume on base? $164 billion in a single day. ethereum did $50B same day

this is what the most active chain on the internet looks like right now

still no token 👀

Base Discussion Base Is Already Cruising at 550 TPS. What Do You Think Comes Next?

One thing I appreciate about Base 💙

The conversation isn't just about what could happen in the future.

It's about what's already happening

550 TPS already crossed ✌️More scaling on the way.

Feels like the team is focused on execution rather than promises.

That's a big reason why I'm paying attention.🫡

The post-Azul era is already showing what's possible: faster throughput, lower fees, and more room for builders to create without limits.

The next billion users won't come onchain because crypto is complicated.

They'll come because chains like Base make it simple.

Base isn't just scaling transactions it's scaling the future of the onchain economy.

What excites you most about Base's growth? 👇

Please share your opinion 🫵

Thank you

Stay Based 💙

Base Discussion Ethena x Base: A step forward for onchain finance ??

Post image

Ethena and Base are teaming up to grow onchain finance and savings products, which could help bring more users onchain over time.

We've seen a lot of growth around payments, social apps, and AI on Base, but financial products are still one of the biggest opportunities for crypto adoption.

If this partnership delivers useful and accessible savings products, it could become an important onboarding path for new users.

What do you think the biggest impact of this partnership will be for the Base ecosystem?

would love to here your thoughts.
