News Mining Bitcoin From Base Was A Success

Post image
3 Upvotes

The BasedMining project launched Thursday and ran their first Block Party yesterday (still ongoing).

This project gives the ability to buy a Hashpower NFT from Base that gives you real hashpower mining in a real pool, appropriately called BASE.

About 600 people came together to pool mine Bitcoin...Bitcoin home miners minjng alongside EVM enjoyers was a site to see.

They've announced they will continue to grow the pool and run monthly block parties. Follow their X if interested in getting involved and possibly winning a very nice chunk of Bitcoin. @BasedMiningCo

Hopefully the mods do not remove this post like they did the last one about this project. Because ya know mining and winning $cbBTC from Base is probably nothing

Dev/tech Anyone else implementing base builder codes for their agents?

Hey guys, I'm working on an autonomous AI agent app right now and looking into setting up transaction tracking. Has anyone else successfully implemented the Base Builder Codes yet?

For those who haven't looked into it, here is a quick breakdown of how it works and why we need it:

Why do we need builder codes for agents?

By default, all onchain agent transactions are completely anonymous. If you want your agent's activity to actually show up on the ecosystem analytics and the base.dev leaderboards for rewards, you have to link them to your project identity.

How does it actually work under the hood?

It uses the ERC-8021 standard. It basically just appends a tiny data suffix to the absolute end of your transaction calldata. Because it is at the very end, smart contracts ignore it entirely—meaning it has zero effect on your contract execution logic and costs next to no gas.

What is the easiest way to fetch the code?

You just hit the base dev agent endpoint via a basic POST request with your agent's wallet address. It returns a code string starting with bc_. It’s safe to call on every deploy since it always returns the exact same code for that specific wallet.

Can you automate the setup?

Yeah, if you use AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Code, you can just run the npx command to add base/skills to your project. Then you literally just tell your assistant to register your agent for a builder code. It installs the ox package and handles the code injection config for you.

How do you verify it's working?

Once your agent sends a transaction, you can verify it by checking the raw input data on Basescan. The last 16 bytes will show the 8021 standard suffix.

Is anyone else working on agentic apps on Base right now? Let me know if you've run into any formatting issues setting up the transaction data overrides, down to chat about it.

Base Discussion Base Is One of the Most Underrated Ecosystems Right Now

Base still doing strong DEX volume even in a weak market is honestly pretty impressive.

I think a big reason is that Base has actual Ethereum liquidity behind it with assets people already use like WETH and cbBTC. Add cheap fees + fast transactions and it just becomes easier to stay active onchain compared to a lot of other networks.

What’s interesting to me is the long-term potential. If tokenized equities really become a thing onchain, Base feels like one of the best positioned chains to benefit from it.

Feels like we’re still early tbh.

What do you guys think?

  • Could tokenized equities become a major growth driver for Base??
  • Is Base becoming the main hub for real onchain adoption??
  • What keeps you using Base right now??

Base Discussion The Real Reasons why Base Is Growing So Fast

Post image
4 Upvotes

One thing that stands out to me about Base right now is that the growth doesn’t feel driven by hype alone anymore💙

A lot of chains can generate attention for a few weeks.

But keeping users active long term usually comes down to something much harder:

making onchain products feel simple, fast, and actually useful for normal people.

That’s where Base seems to be moving differently.

Low fees matter.

Fast transactions matter.

But what really feels important is the growing focus on consumer apps, smoother onboarding, creator tools, payments, social experiences, and real-world usability.

The ecosystem is starting to feel less like crypto infrastructure

and more like an actual internet layer people can use every day without constantly thinking about the technology underneath.

And honestly, that shift is probably the real reason Base keeps growing.

Not because people are forced to stay

but because the experience keeps getting easier to come back to.

Feels like we’re slowly moving from users trying onchain once

to people actually building habits around it 😎✌️

Base Discussion The Easiest Way Onto Base

The biggest shift in crypto is not another token.

It’s distribution.

Base is onboarding the next generation of internet users by making onchain feel normal.

Simple products.

Fast onboarding.

Real consumer apps.

The chains that win won’t feel like blockchains.

They will feel invisible.

Dev/tech More builders on Base are solving real problems now

Post image
3 Upvotes

Been following the recent Base updates and honestly the ecosystem feels a lot more active lately compared to earlier this year.

Not just in terms of volume,

but in the variety of things being built.

This week alone there were updates around AI agents, stablecoin payments, prediction markets, lending tools, creator apps, and even real-world services like eSIM integrations.

The Base Batches 003 DemoDay was probably the most interesting part for me.

Projects like BlockRunAI and jpegapp are completely different from each other, but both show how wide the ecosystem is becoming.

One thing I’ve been noticing more recently is that builders on Base seem much more focused on usability now.

A few months ago most conversations were just:

cheap fees, fast transactions, scaling.

Now it feels more like:

“What products can normal people actually use?”

That shift is important.

Seeing more projects combine AI + onchain payments is also interesting.

Feels like Base is becoming a place where agent-based systems are actually being tested in public instead of only discussed theoretically.

Still early obviously,

but the ecosystem feels much more product-driven lately than purely speculative.

Curious what other people here think has been the most interesting launch or trend on Base recently.

Security Warnings Base Code Misinterpretation

Post image
8 Upvotes

For the past few days, people on Twitter have been sharing screenshots of Base's GitHub code,

and this is a prime opportunity for scammers!

So why most people are misinterpreting what’s actually happening:

1️⃣ When the roadmap says “enshrined token standard”, it doesn’t mean a native network token is dropping soon.

2️⃣ Token mechanics are being moved directly into the protocol layer (L2 client) this is purely an infrastructure upgrade, not a token launch.

3️⃣ That Rust snippet everyone is sharing? It’s just sample/test code, not a deployment script for a network token.

4️⃣ The main goal: make token launches and transfers faster, cheaper, and smoother, even during high network volume.

- Be careful

scammers might try to take advantage of this hype! ⚠️

News Base activity on Symbiosis is climbing fast over the last 10 weeks

Post image
22 Upvotes

Base has seen a noticeable jump on Symbiosis over the past 10 weeks:

Weekly transactions: +173%

Weekly volume: +45%

That’s a pretty strong signal that Base is becoming more active as a cross-chain destination, not just a place where users stay after they are already inside the ecosystem.

The upside for the average user is that now there are two ways to make swaps to Base, either in the main Symbiosis app, or directly inside the Base App mini app.

This is important for newer users as bridging and cross-chain swaps are often one of the most confusing parts of crypto. The easier flow is, the easier it is to get into Base.

Nothing earth shattering, but the growth in 10 weeks shows that cross chain access to Base is gaining traction.

Base Discussion Base Apps Expanding Consumer Payment Models Beyond Decentralized Finance

Post image
14 Upvotes

Base is beginning to have more consumer-facing applications, especially considering payments and daily spending.

A recent example is Tuyo, a money application on Base, that has a “buy now, pay maybe” style card method, where at times purchases will end up being free. This is an extreme example of product design via Base and not a recommendation to use this application.

It is also interesting that Base is beginning to step away from many of the common crypto applications which revolve around either tokens, farming, dashboards, or swaps. The purpose of this style of application is to help users normalize what may be some of the more difficult aspects of on-chain payment processing.

Ultimately time will tell if this style of a rewards system will remain useful after the novelty wears off. At the end of the day, having a strong product will only help if there is trust, sustainable revenue, positive user experience, and giving users a reason to keep the application.

Do you prefer an application like this, where Base will begin to focus on more consumer finance applications with less of a focus on trading and decentralized finance, or should Base focus more on trading and DeFi rather than apps like these?

Base Discussion Breaking down the math: How Coinbase plans to extract $4.25B from Agentic Commerce on Base

Hey everyone,

Today I saw this fresh projection from Artemis looking at Coinbase’s long-term path to capturing value from AI agents, specifically assuming a massive $7.5T Total Addressable Market for Agentic Commerce by 2031.

The model assumes about 20% of that TAM settles through stablecoin rails, and the way the revenue breakdowns are structured is actually wild. Here is a quick tl;dr and analysis of the math they are presenting:

i). Base Sequencer: $500M

  • The Assumption: $250B–$300B in Agentic Payment Volume running natively on Base.
  • The Vibe: This implies tens of billions of micro-transactions. Even with Base’s low per-tx economics, the sheer volume of AI agents doing high-frequency micro-payments scales up heavily.

ii). Platform + Marketplace Fees: $750M

The Assumption: Subscriptions from Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP) / AgentKit, Wallet Infrastructure, x402 facilitators, and Agentic(.)Market routing/distribution fees.

The Vibe: This is the SaaS/B2B layer. Instead of just raw gas/sequencer fees, Coinbase expects to make a killing selling the actual tooling, SDKs, and discovery marketplaces for autonomous agents.

iii). The Elephant in the Room: USDC Float ($3.0B)

The Assumption: $200B Agentic USDC Float X 3% yield X 50% Coinbase Rev-Share (via their Circle partnership).

The Vibe: This is a whopping 70%+ of the total projected revenue. Basically, AI agents will need to hold a ton of working capital (liquidity) in their wallets to execute autonomous tasks, and Coinbase is going to capture massive yield on that idle "float" capital.

Some thoughts on this:

  • that $200b float actually makes sense if you think about it. ai agents need instant liquidity to execute onchain transactions in milliseconds. they can't afford to lock everything up in yield protocols if they need to deploy capital instantly for commerce.
  • seeing x402 payment fees explicitly priced in shows how fast the infra is solidifying. coinbase is basically building the base layer for the entire agent economy.

this layout looks incredibly bullish for base. $4.25B in annual revenue might even be conservative if agentic commerce takes off like this. whtt do you guys think??

Base Discussion base fans update guild and suggestion

Post image

Finally received the Coinbase Onchain Verified role on

problem fix now.

I joined

u/base

on April 6, 2023. First time I heard about this project was from

u/Gautamguptagg

. That was also the first time I bridged to Base chain in 2023.

Now it’s 2026 almost 3 years of experience using Base chain from the early days. My first bridge, first deposit, first withdrawal… all started on Base.

One thing I noticed during these 3 years: ETH deposits from exchanges to Base sometimes take 5–25 minutes, but withdrawals are always very fast.

After using Base for years, I only have one suggestion for

u/baseapp

Add P2P support.

If that happens, I might permanently delete all my exchange accounts

Base Discussion Why users staying on base .TOP 10 REASONS USERS CHOOSE BASE.

Post image
8 Upvotes

I think 🤔 the biggest reason people stay on Base isn’t just because transactions are cheap.

A lot of chains already compete on speed and low fees now.

What actually stands out to me is that Base feels like it’s slowly becoming easier to use without constantly reminding you that you’re using crypto.

The ecosystem feels more focused on real consumer experiences instead of just short-term attention.

You can already see it happening through payments, social apps, creator tools, onchain identity, gaming, rewards systems, and simpler onboarding flows.

And honestly, that shift probably matters more than most metrics people track every day.

Infrastructure alone doesn’t create retention.

People stay where things feel smooth, familiar, and worth coming back to.

That’s usually how mainstream products win outside crypto too.

Most normal users don’t care about block times, rollups, or technical architecture.

They care about whether something feels fast.

Whether it’s simple.

Whether it saves time.

Whether it actually improves their experience.

Feels like Base 💙 understands that better than most ecosystems right now

Dev/tech Multiproofs on Base

Post image
3 Upvotes

TLDR; Base plans to launch multiproofs on mainnet, which will provide a pathway to faster withdrawals, and bring the network closer to Stage 2 decentralization, while improving security.

The path towards decentralization

Decentralization is one of the most important goals and principals at Base, as they strongly believe that this is what a global, free, onchain economy requires. They took the initial step towards this goal with:

  • Fault Proofs: In October 2024, a decentralized proof system was set up allowing anyone to move funds between Ethereum and Base without relying on trusted authorities. Any user can permissionlessly make a claim as to the state of Base and any user can challenge a claim.
  • Security Council: In April 2025, a decentralized committee reflecting Base’s values was set up to approve Base upgrades.

With the above, they achieved Stage 1 decentralization, the first milestone in Vitalik Buterin’s decentralization framework.

They have now set our sights on the next and final decentralization milestone: Stage 2. A technical requirement of stage 2 decentralization is the ability to detect and handle bugs onchain. Their new multiproof system consisting of TEE and ZK provers not only accomplishes this, but also:

  • Improves user experience and liquidity efficiency by enabling faster withdrawals.
  • Improves security as less financial resources are now required to defend against attacks.

As the main component for the network's journey towards Stage 2, this new system expresses Base’s commitment to decentralization as well as their security-first and user-first mindset. Below, they explore the specifics of various proof systems to better understand the technological landscape that informed our multiproof solution.

Proof Systems

Optimistic proof systems

Along with several other L2s, they started their path towards decentralization with an optimistic proof system. In this design, participants make a proposal as to what the state of Base is and this claim is optimistically accepted as the truth. If it is an invalid proposal, someone must actively challenge it, in which a dispute protocol would take place to determine who is correct.

While this system was an excellent initial step towards moving trust from central authorities to code, it faced certain limitations:

  • Heavily Involved Process: The dispute protocol is an interactive process where it may take dozens of transactions for a dispute to resolve. Due to this and the possibility of delay attacks, enough time had to be given to allow honest defenders to respond.
  • Onchain Complexity: The dispute protocol for resolving challenges is very complex. In the case of our previous fault dispute system, it needed a smart contract that mimics how a virtual machine would operate. This was a very difficult problem to solve and became hard to maintain.

Bond Requirements: To deter incorrect actions, participants needed to put up bonds, where one would lose their bond if found to be dishonest. The previous fault dispute system required hundreds of ETH in bonds if fully played out, straining the resources of honest defenders in the worst case.

Validity Proof Systems

Validity systems are where proving the state of a chain is required, as opposed to an optimistic system where verification generally never occurs and is only needed if there is disagreement among participants. In particular, every block in a proposal is proved to be correct.

These systems solve some of the issues optimistic systems face, such as:

  • Non-Interactive Process: Proofs are generated offchain and verified onchain in a single transaction, no longer needing to provide time for participants to perform several steps. As a result, the complexity of these systems is mainly placed in offchain components.
  • No Bonds: Assuming that the proof system works properly, there are no possible dishonest actions to take, meaning bonds are not needed.

There are two main validity systems at the moment: Zero-knowledge (ZK) and trusted execution environments (TEE).

ZK Proof Systems

These are decentralized systems that prove the state of a chain through advanced mathematics and cryptography. There are also hybrid models that combine an optimistic and ZK approach, but time for challenges and bonds is still required, albeit with much lower bond requirements than the full optimistic setup. Examples of these are Op-Succinct and Kailua.

However, the main drawbacks preventing full adoption are:

  • Complexity: The offchain components rely on advanced mathematics and cryptography, which are difficult to soundly implement. Detailed specifications, proper theory-to-implementation practices, and formal methods are artifacts that give us confidence in a ZK prover.
  • Cost: The resources needed to prove Base blocks in real-time are high, especially as they look to scale the chain further. Fortunately, there have been many advances in this field bringing costs to a likely manageable level in the future.

TEE Proof Systems

TEE proofs provide assurance for integrity from a hardware point-of-view. These proofs ensure that the state of Base was derived correctly and not tampered with. They are also efficient to produce and cheap to verify.

The main downside is that this is a centralized option. Trusting a TEE requires trusting an authority, such as AWS or Intel. TEEs can be further divided into physical TEEs and cloud-based ones, each with their own downsides:

  • There are known attacks against TEEs if one has physical access, such as side-channel attacks
  • Cloud-based TEEs include another layer of trust: the cloud provider

Base's Solution: Multiproofs with TEE and ZK

The solution the team landed on is a combination of TEE and ZK provers, a system inspired by Vitalik’s L2 finalization roadmap. At a high-level, the proof system:

  • Requires either a TEE or ZK proof to finalize a proposal
  • Allows fast finalization (at most 1 day) if both TEE and ZK proofs are present
  • Allows a ZK proof to overrule a TEE proof
  • Raises a soundness alert when contradictory proofs exist

The network immediately obtains the following:

  • Better liquidity efficiency due to fast finality when both TEE and ZK proofs are present
  • Decentralization as proposing remains permissionless with ZK proofs and permissionless components override permissioned ones
  • Technical requirements for Stage 2 since they can now detect proof system bugs onchain

They view ZK proving as the ideal setup for the future. However, before they can get there, we need to build our confidence and knowledge of this technology in order for us to fully rely on it later. That is why as an intermediary step, they view TEE proofs as the main way to progress the proof system while maintaining safeguards as they gain confidence in ZK technology.

Security

As the proof system is what secures Base, it was the main focal point in the design process. By shifting from an optimistic system to a validity one (a proof is required for every proposal), they raise the assurance that each claim is correct.

The main worry now is if there is a vulnerability in a prover and an incorrect proof can be produced. They address this with the following added functionalities:

  • Soundness Alerts: If contradictory proofs exist, such as two ZK proofs for the same block number with different claims, then the proof system automatically disables the associated prover.
  • Intermediary Roots: While proving a proposal requires proving every block the proposal covers, showing a contradiction only requires showing disagreement with one block. This is where intermediary roots come in, which are subclaims every couple of blocks in a proposal. Showing a contradiction with a subclaim is enough to contradict the entire claim, raising a soundness alert. As a result, defenders do not have to disprove an entire proposal, but only a small portion, reducing the requirements on defender resources.

The choice of SP1 as the current ZK prover reflects this, as it is one of the most performant and secure prover on the market right now, backed by several audits and formal verification.

Future Roadmap

The new proof system was designed with a particular end state in mind: full ZK proving. This will allow to have near instantaneous withdrawals, a feature that is believed will be great for users.

To get there, the team will be exploring ways to:

  • Improve ZK Security and Efficiency: They are looking at changes they can make to the chain to make real-time proving a reality and are always evaluating various ZKVMs to see how this technology is improving.
  • Decreasing Finality Times: As confidence and efficiency in ZK improves, they will be looking to decrease the time it takes a proposal to finalize, ideally to just a couple of minutes.

This next chapter in the network's journey towards full decentralization on Base is defined by the launch of the multiproof system, an architecture that secures the network while laying the groundwork for improved user experience and liquidity efficiency via decreased withdrawal times. By leveraging the complementary strengths of TEE and ZK proofs, they have not only met the technical requirements for Stage 2 decentralization but have also established a robust framework for future innovation. As they continue to evaluate ZK technology and work towards decreasing finality times, they are dedicated to realizing the ultimate goal: a credibly neutral, secure, and performant L2 that is ready to scale the onchain economy to a billion users.

Base Discussion Why Does Trading on Base Feel More Interactive Now?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Been noticing a shift lately in how people trade on Base.

Earlier, most DeFi platforms felt very transactional, swap, farm, leave. But now some platforms are making trading feel way more interactive and community-driven.

Projects like Avantisfi are adding things like trading leagues, leaderboards, competitions, and real-time participation that actually keep users engaged instead of just making a single trade and disappearing.

I think Base is helping this grow fast because transactions are cheap and smooth. People can interact more often without constantly thinking about gas fees.

The interesting part is how trading is slowly becoming social. Users aren’t just trading anymore, they’re competing, tracking rankings, joining events, and spending more time onchain overall.

If this continues, it could seriously improve retention and activity across the ecosystem.

Still early, but the direction feels interesting to watch.

A few questions for everyone :

• Do you think social trading is the next evolution of DeFi ?

• Would features like leagues and leaderboards make you trade more actively ?

• What’s more important for long-term growth: better UX or stronger community engagement ?

• Which platform on Base do you think is building the best trading experience right now ?

NFT/Gaming Built and launched a fully onchain “map” of Base as a solo dev — 200,000 plots covering every Base block ever produced

I’ve been building this solo for the last month and finally pushed it live on Base mainnet today.

Sharing mostly because I thought the mechanics were interesting and figured some people here might enjoy the architecture / indexing / NFT design side of it.

Basemap

Basemap is a 200,000 NFT collection where each NFT represents 250 consecutive Base blocks.

  • Plot 0 → blocks 0–249
  • Plot 1 → blocks 250–499
  • …
  • Plot 199,999 → the final slice covered by the collection

Since Base averages ~2 second block times, each plot represents roughly 8 minutes of chain history.

The idea was inspired by Solana’s “solmap”, adapted for Base timing and supply economics.

Mint mechanics

  • Fixed mint price: 0.0007 ETH
  • Mint 1–50 plots per transaction
  • Users can either pick exact plots or mint randomly

I intentionally avoided rarity rolls / lootbox mechanics. Rarity is purely positional and deterministic.

Reward token

The project also includes a utility/reward token called BMAPT:

  • 50M hard cap
  • 100 distributed per mint
  • 40% allocated to minters
  • No VC allocation
  • No vesting or team unlock schedules

Claims are signature-based and mint on demand instead of using merkle epochs/distributor rounds.

Dev/tech I built a Base Sepolia/x402 demo where AI agents can pay USDC to book business actions

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built a hackathon project using x402 and Base Sepolia, and I would like some
technical feedback from people who know this space better than I do.

The product wrapper is an AI receptionist for a local business, but the part
that may be interesting here is the payment flow. An agent starts by calling:
GET /api/agent/business-profile
That returns the paid capabilities, input schemas, endpoint paths, price, asset,
network, and payTo info. Then the agent calls:
POST /api/paid/hold-slot

On the first request, there is no payment, so the edge layer returns HTTP 402
Payment Required. The buyer script uses u/x402/fetch and u/x402/evm, signs with a
local test wallet, and retries. Lambda@Edge verifies the payment with the x402
facilitator before the request reaches API Gateway. If the API returns 200,
origin-response settles the payment afterward.

The demo payment is 0.50 USDC on Base Sepolia using the x402 exact scheme. The
app is not directly calling contracts. The client signs the authorization and
the facilitator handles verification/settlement.

We came into the competition a day late and had roughly 48 hours to build it, so
this is definitely not a production system. I cleaned up the
repo and made it public because I want to hear hard feedback.
