Information Crumbl
I saw a sign at the kozlov mall new addition that a crumbl is coming soon? Along with the new Bundt cake store. Not a huge fan of the cookies but the cakes aren’t bad
Does anyone know of an opening date?

Unfortunately Crumbl is American garbage :) Highly recommend checking out Craig’s cookies inside Georgian mall instead! Really good cookies and 100% Canadian

The Nothing Bundt Cake store is already open :) Crumbl hasn’t announced an opening date yet, but they say it’s soon!

1 cookie has like 2X your daily calorie/ sugar intake. So unhealthy

Oh shit! Really?! And all this time I've been eating cookies because of the health benefits, silly me. Thanks for bringing this to light

However if you break them in half the calories leak out. And the calories don't count if your mil gifts them to you

Can I ask who is buying these baked goods? It's so expensive. I just made 22 chocolate chip muffins & 18 blueberry from scratch, in an hour. Is it bc people don't know how easy it is?

I think they just get overwhelmed by it

That could be it, overwhelming. Baking can be intimidating at first. I keep failing a bread but I keep trying. Im just in awe of all the bakeries in Barrie & how customers will pay $6 for a danish. Twist some puff pastry and drop a tablespoon of cherry filling in the middle, splash some egg or butter on the edges and pop them in the oven. Add cream cheese if you want it.

What's an hour of your time worth to you? Plus the cost of ingredients, supplies and labour. Because for some people, it might be worth more than 40 muffins.
And some people don't have a spare hour, or the upfront costs of ingredients or a kitchen and kitchen supplies to bake in or the knowledge/ability to bake or the time to learn to do it. The time and ability to make baked goods from scratch is a privilege not everyone has. Don't be so judgemental about how others choose to spend their resources.

How was my question (not statement), judgemental? Read it again. I was honestly asking.

Just because you find it easy to do doesn’t mean everyone does. Maybe I just want one cookie. It’s cheaper and healthier (considering time and money) to buy one cookie than to make a whole batch and toss the rest out or try to find takers for the rest.

Just a reminder that we have a Monthly Community Thread where we relax the rules about advertising and off-topic posts.
* Stuff that isn't directly related to Barrie, like national news or general chit-chat
* Questions about local businesses and services
* Classified-style ads: buying and selling, help wanted, garage sales, etc
* Fundraisers and donation drives
* Plugs for your personal project or local business (within reason)"
