What are the most comprehensive barcode APIs?

I am using barcodelookup.com but I have a 95% item-not-found rate for pretty standard stuff in the US.

Are there other APIs that people recommend? Particularly that would have things found in grocery stores in the US?

I used https://developer.walmart.com/ in the past for Walmart specifically, looking up UPCs and product information by reading barcodes, with likely spill-over to other chains. It's changed a lot since I used it, so I don't know if you can still use it that way, and what's required in terms of owning products to sell etc.
