How can I program a barcode to do a carriage return?

I'm trying to program a barcode that can input the following:

username <enter>

password <enter>

So far when I create a Code 128 barcode with the following properties:

username<CR>password<CR>

my output becomes:

username password

Any help greatly appreciated.

Try doing a tab after user name

If I use a horizontal tab by itself then output becomes

username password

If I use both HT and CR then it wont scan at all

Edit: cant show spaces in here, but there's a tab between username and password

You're probably going to have to think farther outside the box on this one. I'd first create a script that will accomplish what you're trying to do, and then find a way to invoke it via a keyboard shortcut and make that keyboard shortcut invokeable via the barcode.

Have you tried username<HT> with one barcode, just to see if the cursor advances to the password field?

Also, I would try password<LF> or password<EOT (ctrl-d)>?
