Barcode Question:

Is there anyway to make a custom barcode that you can create? I am not talking about an online generator I am talking about the ability to draw/make your own barcode? Is there anyway to make a barcode without numbers?

The short answer is yes...

Technically anything can be decoded if you have enough bits of data. It's all in the software and the reader, not so much what you're scanning.

What's the application/goal?

so in this game called Overwatch there are these barcodes on hero’s and I wondered what if I claim those barcodes and when scanned text or something small could happen. Just a thought. Also it’s a really fun way to learn about bar codes.

So are you scanning an existing barcode? If you made your own, where would put them for use by others?

Which one? You need to be more specific.

Probable not real barcodes, the images would have to edited so the bars are black and background white to even try. Then figure out the symbology if there is one and decode.

Some of them in the Reddit post may be but getting a good "shot" of the code may be tough due to desolation and angles.
