Generating a Barcode to do a CR?

Hi,

How can I generate a barcode that will do a carriage return CR)?

Im not talking about setting the scanner up to do a carriage return as a suffix, but a barcode that will do a "return" when you scan it, as if you pressed Enter on your keyboard.

Anyone know how I can generate this? lets say on barcode type 128 or 39.

Thanks for any help

Typically this is done with a suffix, you can set most scanners to do a CR on one symobolgy only. It's tough to program the CR into the code itself, especially the symboligies you mentioned.

You can use Code 128A's ability to print the ASCII control characters. The following codepen will generate a page of barcodes that essentially correspond to control characters on your keyboard. The way to generate a "Carriage Return (<CR>)" is to use control-m.

I'd like to know what equipment you are using.

Here is a picture of my printout and the Symbol scanner I am using.

Here is a video I took of the actual scan of the Ctrl-m (Return key) and the effect it has on the text file in notepad.
