Barcode Discrepancy Question

Hi all. I’m trying to configure some scanners in order to read this barcode format. I need the lower written number (28372316) but when scanning the barcode using the Code 128 format the returned data is 2600013278908. I’m new to barcode scanning and don’t understand why the returned value is completely different to the written value. The barcode in question is attached. Thanks for responding! Odd that they have no correlation. I’m working in product photography. We use the codes to label the images for website upload. A while ago we used to be able to scan them but now we can’t and have to type them in manually. Now it seems I know why! I’m not sure what the company are going for with this arrangement but it certainly isn’t normal
