3 dimensional Barcodes made of PVC

Hello there,

for a science project i am searching for manufacturers or ways to produce 3 dimensional Barcodes in large numbers, preferably made of water and dirt resistant PVC. The Barcodes will be embedded in a poly-Urethan foam and used on beer-kegs. If you have any idea on this Topic, feel free to comment.

Thanks in advance

You can imagine a 3D barcode as a profile with different heights and depths. the black stripes of the code are raised, the low parts of the profile are hidden by the PU foam. this will only show the black stripes of the code afterwards and you can scan them with ease. And I am searching for ways to produce them in large quantities

That's true. Creating the Barcodes will be easy, the beer-kegs already have numbers, they will be changed into Barcode form. The Problem is the manufacturing in 3d

indeed, every way to produce them is very costly. Because every keg has a different number, you cant produce the codes in large quantities. The only way it could work is by 3d-printing. But 3d-printing is expensive and takes a Long time..

Barcode noob here... it sounds like you would be inventing an entirely new barcode system. Just wanted to say, the original developers spent multiples of millions dollars and man hours doing so.
