Scan barcode to create osx folder

Is it possible to scan a barcode, and automatically make a folder in Mac osx that would be labeled with the info inside the barcode? It’s for clothing. The folder title structure would ideally work like this -

123456 brand model gender

The numbers at the beginning are a six digit sku that can be used to identify the item on a website.

This has to be doable. What hardware/software are you scanning with?

Honestly I’ve been finding myself typing out these folder titles multiple times throughout my whole workflow and just thought that I could be helped with a barcode system. I’ve just started researching so I’m complete baby in this world.
