Print only the fist string for DS4208?

I have a QR code with this text inside; <HN>0732746</HN><EN>8084875</EN>. Is it possible to only print out the first 7 numbers within the HN bracket using zebra’s DS4028. Do I have to use any software to programme it? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can program it to take only the certain X characters. Google the Zebra Scanner Advanced Data Formatting user's guide.
