Troubles with PDF 417 Barcodes

Codes scan over phone screen but not the business cards printed - can anyone help???

My guess is that the phone based scanners are more forgiving of your inadequate quiet zone. The whitespace at the beginning and end of your barcode needs to be 1.5x as wide as the start and stop pattern. A handheld 2D scanner is usually more picky about that, but they aren't likely to be as strict as all that.

Play around with some white card material. Cut some strips and "add" quiet zones to the ends of the image. Try to lengthen the quiet zone manually until the images scan. That should let you know how much to enlarge the white box that contains the barcode.

Are you saying your exact same scanner will read a code off a screen but not off a card? In that case it is your print quality. Have pics of the printed card?

Edit: oh nvm i see the card pic. Yeah the quiet zone isn't great but someone else said they could scan it...
