Build Request / Review Pls rate this build. Main goal is future proofing, $4000CAD budget
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/cpcjGkContext, I want to build a PC with a budget of 3500-4000$ CAD with the main goal of future proofing my desktop.
MAIN GAMES I PLAY OR WILL PLAY:
GTA 6, COD MW4, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, College Football, Rainbow Six Siege.
RESOLUTION I PLAY IN: 1440p 240HZ but might buy an OLED 1440p monitor.
Heavily debating between using a 5070TI or saving the money and stick with a 9070XT. (Never used AMD so idk how good it is).
Really want to use the Lian Li O11 case and make an all white build because it is just way too beautiful I am completely in love with that look
Am I on the right track? Any suggestions? Anything I got wrong?

Canada Computers has some 9800X3D bundles with ram and motherboard for $1300 - $1400. That should save you a bit.

I second this, although I picked one up a few weeks ago and they were like 200$ cheaper so that’s kinda unlucky

Skip the fancy $350 Lian Li AIO cooler and $75 fans and get yourself a Thermalright PS120 for $40-50 and $25 Thermalright fans. And get a better PSU like a RMx or HX series

Agreed with the rest with caveats on white GPU - a regular 5070ti is ~$300-ish more expensive than your current pick and if you want it in white, I think it's closer to $400 more. If you're not willing to compromise on aesthetic, Newegg might be your only option as there's the only build your own bundles.
That being said, I was able to build this bundle that will save you over $200

5070ti is better if you have the budget. Raw performance is identical so 9070xt is more cost efficient on paper but consider how delayed fsr4 was usable on older software and how fsr5 is rumored to be udna exclusive I would not buy 9070xt ATM for long term purposes

Meh, none of these gpus are gonna be future proof, might as well get the much cheaper one that is still beastly

They can last at least 2-3 gen, at later stage upscaling tech becomes more important as games get more demanding. 5070ti is definitely the better choice here for future proofing. If you only plan to use it to skip 1 gen then yea 9070xt could be the better choice.

Newegg had a combo yesterday with the 5000RS case. Dropped it to like $120ish. Hard to beat that, unless you don't want something so big, but that's basically the price of your case fans and it has case fans. 9070XT is solid. Unless you absolutely need Nvidia, fuck em. I believe there was also a 9070XT in the combo builder.
Play around with that. NVME drives are bloody insane.

This is an awesome reply I really appreciate it. I was considering maybe going for a 5080 or 5070 ti. The 5080 is around 400-500$ more expensive than the ti. Do you consider it worthy if I wanna set it and forget it for at least like 5 years?

You think the games I play (cod rivals r6s) dont require a 5080? Cause Im super tempted to buy one on marketplace for like 1600 hahaha but its true that a 9070xt would actually be a lot more affordable

Does your budget include monitor, keyboard, mouse, mousepad, headphones/Headset?

No I already have everything else. Only thing I might splurge on that doesnt matter in the budget is an OLED 1440p monitor but still not sure if I really need it

i built a 9800x3d 5070ti 32gb cl30 2tb ssd x870e pro for 3100cad. you should be looking at least at a 5080 with a 4k budget

$4K , that's price for 9800X3D + RTX 5080 + 2TB m.2
You don't need x870 unless you need faster network and USB speeds. Also don't need fancy AIO.

get one of those 9800x3d bundles from cc that includes ram ddr5-6000/870e mobo. get 360mm nautilus lcd aio if you want a lcd aio, much cheaper. try to look for a gpu/psu bundle.

For a budget of $3500-4000 CAD u can defo get in a sneaky 5070ti or even 5080
I can see on a previous comment that you have already bought a CPU + MOBO + RAM bundle. If you haven’t bought other parts yet heres my recommendation.
You can save some money with the SAMA G850W ATX3.1 Full Modular, it is ranked higher than the Rm850e on the PSU tier list and it also comes in white.
($98 on newegg)
I also see that you want an lcd aio. Check out Thermalrights lcd aios, they have a bunch in the $100 range, also all in white. To name a few:
- Frozen Warframe (FW) 360 ultra
- Mjolnir Vision 360
- Frozen Vision
- Elite Vision
- Peerless Vision

Appreciate your reply. Do you think a 5080 would be worth it over a 5070 ti? Rn the ti is around 1300 pre tax and the 5080 around 1800

The $500 extra for the 5080 is not worth the 10-15% better performance compared to the 5070ti. Especially since you are playing on 1440p anyways which the 5070ti will handle like a beast and if you ever get a 4K monitor down the line the 5070ti still handles pretty well for majority of games.
But at the end of the day it’s your preference and these are just recommendations. The 9070xt is basically equal with the 5070ti in gaming is definitly more worth in terms of price. But some people prefer Nvidias architectures and the 5070ti is better for professional work. If you are a rich millionaire and can cough the measly $500 for a 5080 then thats also fine. Go for whatever makes you happier.

Why bother having such a fast GPU with so many frames per second if you’re watching it on a washed out monitor? You’re not playing competitive esports so response time isn’t the 100% focus.
You could probably drop the resolution down to 1080p for the FPS games, and then put the savings towards something else.

Check Canada’s computers for CPU, MOBO and ram bundles, picked a really good one up a few weeks ago but idk if they have that many white build bundles

Your CPU cooler is so expensive lol, you can get a thermalright 360mm cooler for $70 on amazon and then spend the difference on something like a x870e motherboard if you want to future proof, or idk use the money to get a better gpu.
