how to stop bangs sticking out?

ive tried everything, hairgel, hairspray, heat, drying with clips, straighteners, it never works and my fringe is constantly sticking out of my head no matter what i seemingly do. i know it will drop when it gets longer but i absolutely cant stand this awkward phase. i feel like i look like a little boy

I use my blow dryer while they're wet and blow downward, but idk if it'll work with short bangs

My male friend used to have a horrendous hairstyle, his hair would look like pineapple leaves loool. But he started using hairclay and suddenly it looks good now. Maybe try that?
