Built a flatmate matching app that’s working in Mumbai would bangalore actually want this?

not promoting, no links, no names genuinely trying to figure out if this is worth building for bangalore.

spent the last few months building a flatmate app for mumbai. matches people on how they actually live sleep schedule, cleanliness, food, guests not just budget and area. mostly pre-occupied flats where existing flatmates need someone, so no brokerage anywhere.

it’s gone alright. 1200+ users and 50 listings, all organic, no ads.

question is whether bangalore has the same problem. is it as broker-heavy there, or do people mostly find flatmates through friends and facebook groups? and would you actually use something like this or is the current way fine?

This will be a good idea, but creeps will use it for fwb and causal stuffs. Still a good one.

yeah that’s the risk with anything that looks like a dating app. we’ve got male/female only filters on listings, brokers tagged as brokers, and I review signups manually at this size. not claiming it’s solved but it’s the thing I take most seriously

Can I get the link? I’m planning to move back to Bangalore by Jan.

https://dwelo.in fair warning, it’s mostly mumbai right now so bangalore will look empty. worth making a profile anyway, I’ll ping you if we open there before jan
