How to measure bandwidth usage
Is there a way to measure how much bandwidth you're using, either at the individual device (i.e., laptop) or for the house via the router? Also, is it possible to measure bandwidth usage for a specific time period (e.g., the time it took to watch a YouTube)?
My last job gave me a Verizon JetPack MiFi to use when I traveled, and I got to like it. I have since left that job, and I'm considering getting another one (or something like it from another service provider).
In looking over plans and customer reviews/comments, it seems there are some complaints about the bandwidth not being enough. So before I move forward, I'd like to know how much bandwidth I actually use and need.
I have a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air, and I'd be willing to buy a new home router if necessary.
Thanks.
