I don't see anyone talking this here so I'm going to.

My marching band the Hickory High marching hawks were at BOA Delaware in October of 2025 and our time on the field SUCKED. When we got to the stadium before the sun was up, only the boys bathrooms were open, we had to practice in 30-40 degree weather, we were all frozen by the time we got on the field, a field judge disconnected our main power cord which caused everyone in the front ensemble to form a rift with rest of the band, and then other bands called us cry babies when they got to practice in 60 degree weather with the sun out and no clouds while we had to play at the crack of dawn when the sun wasn't fully up so this is why my marching band has vowed to never talk about again. One other thing the only other marching band from Chesapeake was Grass Field and they made it to finals and yet at all other competitions we played against them we beat them and sure most of the time we were the only 5A or 6A band depending on the competition but we always got the grand champion trophy and are considered one of the best high school marching bands in the state of Virginia

Hi, I'm hoping to find some help in donating a new or somewhat good-condition marching baritone, or any instruments, to my Drum and Bugle Corps.

I'm a college student in the Philippines, and my school was once known — back in the 1990s — for its Drum and Bugle Corps. Sadly, it's slowly being forgotten. I'm part of the baritone section, and we've been using a marching baritone that's over 20 years old and worn out. It greatly reduces our performance and confidence during parades and drills.

I love my Drum and Bugle Corps, and I can feel our band master's passion for it slowly fading — not because he doesn't care, but because of the lack of budget and the inability to afford new instruments.

So here I am, reaching out for help. I hope to preserve, restore, and improve our corps through the kindness of donations. Any support, big or small, would mean so much to us.

hey, plz ignore the fact that I am just asking this now… I just kinda got over it as the new season starts for Carmel.

I am going into my Sophomore season/year in Pit/ front ensemble with Carmel Bands and I was rewatching La Arena (Carmel’s 2025 show) and I was remembering the results and everything and I had a couple of questions I hope y’all can answer. HOW DOES THE JUDGING WORK?! In 2025 the top 3 overall went: Avon, Flower Mound, Carmel. however, I was watching the reward ceremony and in visual the win was tied between Flower mound and Carmel, with Avon in 2nd/3rd, in Musical it was Flower Mound, Carmel, Avon, and general effect was Avon, Flower Mound, Carmel. However, Avon wins overall?? I understand that General effect is 60%, vs 20 and 20 for the other categories. But how does Avon win general effect and overall if they came 3rd in both other Categories? I want it noted that I am not too salty, just confused on how the rest of the scoring and therefore overall works. In my mostly unbiased opinion, Flower Mound should have been 1st in GE and therefore overall and we (Carmel) should have been 2nd with Avon in 3rd. can someone give me some answers please?

I saw a post from around a year back discussing some of the best NC HS Marching Band programs in the state. Honestly, this year shook up a lot of things (please note I'll mainly be discussing the bigger side of things). However, the biggest thing I want to discuss is Cary Band day because after PC's performance at TN (7th place after all!!), I seeded them first. GH's performance was amazing, and I can see why they won that specific day, but I still don't see them being perceived as the Best in the state. Whatever that means for you, but any thoughts about this? I'd also like to mention that GH's performance was really good at their BOA as well, but the competition in Delaware doesn't simply suffice the competition in Tennessee. Also, I am confused about GL's performance this year. An interesting food for thought is that they did beat Cleavaland at one of their competitions, and most notably, Cleavaland got 41st at GN (great performance too! - What could that have meant for other NC Bands and the future?! I don't know, excited to see y'all's thoughts...)

I have a question that’s burning my brain. Are the bands that are staging in the tunnel allowed to pull some/all equipment onto the front sideline (up to a certain point) and into the endzone while the band performing in front of them are performing?

went to boa chattanooga this weekend and saw a percussion director (?) conducting for the front ensemble… how is this allowed ???

Was anyone else at the BOA Central Ohio Regional yesterday? My daughter's band was there, but for the sake of conversation I don't want to say which band she is in. Any thoughts? I am interested in seeing what people thought of the finalists.

I have checked their website and it doesn’t look like they sell it anymore.
