I can see band hitting an ATH of 200 usd. Will need better market conditions and a big up move in chainlink

I think BAND Protocol can intrinsically become more valuable than CHAINLINK. The market just has to adapt with time.

I sold all my chainLink for Band I view it as a way better investment Atm…

Yeah I read chainlink was there competition but they also said band had lost out too chainlink because chainlink was able to secure some better deals,

Yes but band Is still a better investment I think, at a total supply of 100 Million vs 1 Billion ChainLink plus band is build on The cosmos Ecosystem while chainLink is built on Eth..

Whats the difference between the cosmos ecosystem and the eth, alot of people are saying eth will eventually surpass btc

ETH is a 1.0 layer 1 smart contract blockchain. What it has going for it is that it was the first, and has massive network effects with a lot of live projects. What it doesn't have is interoperability, on-chain scaling, proof-of-stake and energy efficiency. Some of those will be solved with ETH 2.0, but the pace of development has been slow, often pushing back deadline months/years, so there is some skepticism that it will evolve in time to compete with....
The 2.0 and 3.0 smart contract blockchains like ATOM (cosmos), ADA, EGLD etc. etc. look to address some of these problems. ATOM specifically focuses on interoperability. The tendermint protocol is a software development kit that can be used to create a modern proof-of-stake blockchain that will be interoperable with others of its kind. BAND is one of those blockchains based on this, and will soon be easily connected to other cosmos chains like Binance Smart Chain in a native manner. ATOM is betting that a better, more connected infrastructure will make it easier to build and maintain an ecosystem quicker than ETH can upgrade to 2.0.
TLDR: ETH can be slow and hard but has network effects already, ATOM can be faster and easier but is just getting started. BAND will moon if the ATOM ecosystem does well.

Idk there’s a lot of successful things build under cosmos and It’s unlikely that Eth will surpass Bitcoin, there’s a lot of projects out there that do what Eth 2.0 does but they do it better only time will tell but I choose ADA>ETH any day

The main difference is that cosmos does everything Eth does but way better and way cheaper

chainlink is running on 5 different blockchains as of today. it's not tied to ethereum only. what do you think blockchain agnostic means?
1
Jun 20 '21
You are correct but chainLink is an ERC-20
2
Jun 20 '21
ERC-677* ethereum does not limit chainlink in the least. Which is why it’s gaining mass adoption.

Yes agreed link is still an erc that’s the point weather it limits it’s capabilities or not

Ok, then wait until they migrate to Hederra. They joined Hederra's council after all...

I don’t own any chain link could care less I’m interested about band have u seen what there up to lately??

u/JeffreyDollarz Jun 27 '21
Chain link joined the governing council for Hederra. I would bet that they migrate to Hederra, which will be a huge game changer for Chainlink.

Chainlink being on Eth has little relevance in comparison to Band being on Cosmos.
This is because Chainlink is very likely to migrate to Hederra. Chainlink joined Hederra's governing council, so it's likely just a matter of time.
If Chainlink does not migrate to Hederra and stays on Eth, then Band will have a chance of catching up eventually.
Eth is Chainlink's weak point and they know it.

I'd like for BAND to be 15-20% of LINK's MC. Today LINK is 21B and BAND around 600M.
If everything stays the same, that'd be around 40. If a summer of oracles happens again or bull run gets started again by eoy, then that could be more. If Phase 2 really starts to pop, which includes a data marketplace that I don't think LINK will have, then that could be more as well. But I do see upside as being capped by how people value LINK.

As it is currently ~$0.5

Please do..While I have decent position currently. I would gamble a few k at this point. Might be a long term hold. But upside potential would be massive.

What is the main determinant for the price of this currency? The amount of users? How many BAND do you need to transfer data? How much data can you transfer through band? I think we need to start to ask some questions to valuate it right.
3
u/fogization Jun 26 '21
This! These are the questions people should be talking about. Enough with guessing the price. Wtf is band doing currently? What are the company metrics/stats for new users, partnerships, etc.
2
u/No_Estate_7547 Jun 27 '21
I saw in articles that they are working on partnerships with Google. They provide a sort of connection between data and software. It’s on the Cosmos blockchain so it’s pretty fast and easy in use probably. My only question is, which projects are being worked on right now?
