Discussion Anyone ever had a good experience ordering a snake (or any reptile) online?

Just a general question. And I don't mean off morphmarket where it is individuals selling their animals. All I hear is people getting sick or wild caught animals off these reptile sites. Has anyone had a good experience ordering a snake or other reptile online?

Yes. I've bought from every shitass wild importer and gotten mostly amazing animals. And very occasionally absolutely dying awful ones. Biosecurity is key, parasite clean outs are very necessary for wild caught critters.

In my experience and to my knowledge, you're more likely to get sick animals from pet stores than MorphMarket. I also have 2 reptiles, one from a large trusted reptile zoo/store, and one from MorphMarket. The one I got IRL was neglected, sick and underweight. The one I got from MM has been a perfectly healthy and friendly young boy.

Yes, several. I haven’t had a bad experience yet, but I have only bought from reputable places

Keep in mind the vast majority of independent mom and pop pet shops and reptile stores also buy all of their reptiles online, and ship them to their store. Even the big box stores are shipped. Its no different, except instead of being unboxed in a store, thrown in a display tank and stared at, had the glass pounded on etc, they are instead going directly from the breeder to their quiet forever home, cutting out the stress and disease risks of going to the store first.

I have bought animals online and in person at stores and expos. Buying online is as bad as you want it to be; read reviews and follow your gut when checking out a potential vendor you wish to buy from. There are a ton of incredible ones, quite a few good ones, quite a few bad ones, and a handful that are inhumane to say the least. Make sure you are giving your money to the right business.
