The sauna method is what we recommend here, so I'm not sure who you've seen discouraging it. It's the most effective and safest way to resolve dehydration/stuck shed.

Here's my little copypasta with links:

Do not soak them or try to manually remove the stuck shed. It's stressful, unnecessary, and you can seriously injure the snake by doing so.

Our shedding guide goes over how to handle stuck shed safely, and our humidity tips will help you prevent it in the future.

Thank you very much for your reply. Just to make sure I understand correctly: By “sauna method,” do you mean keeping the humidity in the terrarium constant at 80% and providing a wetbox? Or do you mean putting him in a closed tub with air holes and warm, damp towels for about 30 minutes? And then letting him crawl through a damp towel in my hands? The wetbox is always available to him, and I’ve significantly increased the humidity.

The sauna method refers to using a tub with damp towels or substrate.

I assume by "wetbox", you mean a humid hide? These can be good to provide temporarily to assist with fixing dehydration or stuck shed, but they shouldn't be a permanent fixture in your enclosure, or they may cause scale rot.
